Superb
Smith and Stybbard have written a gem in this book. It’s certainly helped me to take control of my dog’s idiosyncratic toilet habits. My pug Grendel now dances to my tune, be it on walks, in the garden or merely impressing friends and family. A word of caution - take care when choosing your “command words” and “smart phrases” to avoid words your dog is likely to hear on the television. It took 4 episodes of Ali McBeal before I realised that my “full evacuation” command was in the theme song.

Surviving Divorce: A Handbook for Men by Gay Search

Insightful
A well-written and challenging book which I bought for my Uncle Sandy as he attempts to cope with the aftershock of divorce. Unfortunately he thought the author’s name was a coping strategy being suggested and he refused to read it.

This guy is my new hero.

I must agree. I read about him in that thread as well and spent the better part of a morning attempting to not spew hot coffee out of my nose. The ongoing commentary about his wife’s weight is hilarious.

I discovered Raddick when someone mentioned him in this Pit thread on Amazon reviewers. The guy is hilarious. My favorite:

Sudden Strangers: The Story of a Gay Son and His Father by Aaron Fricke, Walter Fricke
A well-written book with a movingly told story which I initially bought just to leave lying around the house. My son Jonathan (who’s straight) may think he’s won the pierced nose battle, but I will win the mind-games war on the issue.

Be careful and think long and hard before you give this book to your wife or girlfriend as a gift. As I learnt to my cost, if she looks at it in horror you won’t be able to tell her that you are a little drunk and just slipped.

As a bored radiographer who would rejoice never to have to spatula another octagenarian’s jewels onto the plate again in his life I have to say that Ms Martin imbues the subject with a sense of glamour it hardly merits.
