We just saw these two (and the three other members of the band) here in Portland and they took the roof off the place. While he did a short medley of the old fizzy-pop stuff that made him famous, it could have been eliminated and not missed by most. This was some seriously good music: versions of standards and Brazilian music arranged to a “T”. The guy is 75 years old and can still blow the horn well enough to tour. His wife, Lani Hall, still has the pipes of a 30-year old and they have a good on-stage chemistry.
They’re headed to Vancouver, Canada so if you live up that way, make sure you catch the show. They did three encores here.
