Here is a thread about the 2016 Summer Olympics

LOL. Sorry, I read what you said entirely differently  It was breakfast …

Actually I think the college football OT is probably most akin to PKs. In the college football OT both teams go back and forth, while starting from the 25 yard line. This completely takes out one of the most important parts of American football - the field position game. And sometimes that results in strange things where a 10-10 defensive struggle ends up being 50-49 because in OT teams start scoring in bunches because they don’t have to deal with going 50 yards before being in position to score.

The Kenyan Olympic team is now staying in a shantytown where they hear gunfire at night since the Olympic village closed. The reason? They’re looking for a cheap flight home! Didn’t someone think of this BEFORE they flew to Brazil?

There’s a slight delay in the baggage claim area at Heathrow…

That’s pretty hilarious.

Did the baggage retrieval system not work correctly, because I’ve heard people express concern about such a thing.

A bit too late, I guess, but just watched a rerun of women’s 800M race and was blown away by the ease with which a competitor from South Africa just left her competitors literally standing in the dust, as she accelerated to the finish. What an inspiration for all other athletes!

And I’m so worried about the baggage retrieval system they’ve got at Heathrow.

Hey, somebody had to do it.

I thought somebody already did.

She has been plagued by people doubting that she’s a woman, but evidently the judges are satisfied she is.

USA Today article saying the Ryan Lochte and the other three swimmers apparently were held up at gunpoint.

Questions about Rio cops, Lochte incident

So, we’ve had media barrages see-saw back and forth, but it looks like the truth leans more toward the original, perhaps. Maybe.

I don’t think so. It’s that either the IOC or IAAF switched from chromosome gender testing (if you have a Y chromosome, you’re a male; if not, you’re a female) to testing testosterone levels to see if they were “too high for a woman,” but the Court of Arbitration for Sport said that the test was invalid as there was not enough proof that a testosterone level above a certain amount was considered too much of an advantage. I am not sure what the test is now; for all I know, it’s what they used in the early days of the Olympics - each athlete stripped in front of a committee, which then decided if the athlete was male or female.

From what I read, there is no test now. After the testosterone testing was rejected, they just kind of threw their hands up in the air.

Like they just don’t care?

Bumped.
