 :eek: Hope it not that bad, Alien, but maybe I’ll wait until I pay off my credit bills for this month…
Morning all. 80F heading for 89F. Like swampy, we’re still promised rain but none has shown up, so maybe I’ll water the yard today, it is a sure-fire system for bringing in the tunder-boomers.
Nothing much on the schedule today. Life is slowly returning to normalcy.
My dental cleaning took less than half an hour, and it’s a good thing, too. The hygienist was baby-talking to me, and I was >< this close to killing her!!
I also tried to turn in an old out-of-date prescription to the pharmacy - they said I have to take it to the sheriff. Rather inconvenient…
Dishes are done, purchases are stowed, 8 eggs have been boiled and peeled. And the last of the last batch of cherries have been ingested. Pretty productive morning, I’d say!
I didn’t close Freecell when I closed my 17-inch 2011 MacBook Pro last night. This morning when I opened it, it was frozen and I had to restart. I don’t know how many times it cycled, trying to start up. I pulled out my new 15-inch MacBook Pro that I bought this week, so that I could log into work. I don’t like the smaller screen, but it’s the biggest they make nowadays. Also, some of the buttons don’t work the same. And I don’t have my Office for Mac 2011. The old computer did finally restart. I’ll take it in tomorrow for diagnostics and (I hope) repair.
I am to go to my neurologist’s office today to meet with her PA. The doc herself is on sabbatical. There is a new treatment to try, but I must Be Seen first.
Other than that, we’re going to flirt with 100 degrees today to see if we like it (spoiler - we won’t).
I can’t believe Summer is almost over. This year has been unusually quick.
heh for the kid’s summer here ends August 8th …the dollar stores have already moved the summer stuff off the “featured” spot and it’s all "back to school " now and it’s just gonna get worse …
but i dont mind as i wont get woke up at 6 am and have a loveable butthead of a 9yr old running around …i never thought id see the day id be glad school started lol
**Butters **- the hygienist did comment on how little tartar she found on my teeth - the cleaning went lots faster than usual. I’m wondering if it’s the new toothbrushes I’m using.
I’ve been working on a baby afghan and watching West Wing. After such a busy morning, this is a really lazy afternoon.
Mrs. L.A. wanted biscuits and gravy for breakfast. I’m working, but I went and got a tube of biscuits and made gravy from scratch. We each had an over-easy egg too.
Howdy Y’all! I survived the doc and the vampire. Actually the whole thing took less than an hour. YAY! My cholesterol level is a little higher than my doc would wont it be, so I now have a prescription for a low dose (10mg) pill for that. She was not real upset but said she hoped the med plus me bein’ better with my diet would bring it back down. I shall try my bestest to behave. Of course, havin’ said that, I did ingest majik intartoobz pizza for sup. However, I also had sallit so maybe I was not exactly bad. Also took care of church duties. I even adjusted the candelabras whilst there as I thought they looked a little wonky last Sunday. Go Me!
Swampy! Were Candela’s other unmentionables okay?
I shall be putting in a long day tomorrer, Up before sunrise to go shooting (summer biathlon) & then shooting again at sunset - it’s Manhattanhenge!
Not sure what I’m doing in between but it’ll be a long day just from those two events.
Iffn I was smart(er), I’d go to bed early; however, I’m gonna watch people run out of a theatre as tickets sold out before I had a chance to get 'em, like in minutes.
I was lazy today. One of the bars I go to is moving a couple of blocks, so they had “Bottom Out the Barrel” night to drain their barrel of 13yr old Elisha Craig bourbon. I helped lighten their load.
I drive one of those every now and then. My ex (good terms) restores / customizes vintage VWs. I’m occasionally called in to do artwork on them and will take them for a spin. Other than that, the last one I drove was my dad’s '81 Chevy half ton. That thing was not geared well for pulling a boat.
metal mouse, the one for my car would run me $300+. My sister recently had to pay $400+ for a fob for her Honda van.
I bugged out from irk early, given that our weekend crew took last weekend off and work was light. I got the groceries bought and took Nelson to his play date at the dog park. Ribs for me and a pup cup for him for supper. I’s tahred.
Red, that’s…astounding. I had no idea they cost that much.
doggio, I would have thought you and the bottom of a barrel would be on much closer terms…
Apparently my threatening to water the yard was enough, we got about an hour of rain this afternoon and more looks like it’s coming. The storm (now a hurricane) along the Gulf Coast may dump some water on us later next week, but swampy and any other of our Gulf area denizens be carefull this weekend.
Outside of that, finally downloaded my vacation pics (all 1800 of them) and am slowly going through them. Will post a variety at my Facebook page once I get them sorted.
We had take in salad and pizza. Since we had salad it was all healthy using Swampy’s logic.
Tahred. TGIF. we are going to the mainland in the morning to look at a rescue wawa. His name is Axel but should he come home home with us he shall be known as Brownie since he is brown. No obligation just gonna look. My house just is not a home without a dog and my precious Louie would want us to give a dog a good home.
Hubby was due to go to Maine last Wed but rescheduled his flight for this coming Moanday. He is going to visit a dear friend who is battling cancer that has spread to his bones. If it were different circumstances I would go but not this trip. Maine is on my bucket list though. I shall be super lonely when he is gone. He made sure I have a gun handy in case I need to shoot someone. Actually I feel safe here but one can’t be too careful these days. This is another reason I need a dog so he can bark if he hears something I don’t.
She’s the coaster freak and not me; I’m more for the dark attractions.
I hate the Steelers with a passion.
------- never mind. It always makes me sad when I say it.
With how few people see truly antique cars anymore you can screw with them even in automatics. Just let the average 17 year old paring attendant find the dash-control-lever or even worse the push-buttons on an old Corvair.
PS – I blew off work today for a meeting I needed to attend. So if your dogfood doesn’t arrive its all my fault.
