But this was dicount bottom of the barrel!![]()
It was $367 and some change to get one from the Kia stealership recently. Fobs for some cars can be bought and self-programmed, but more and more need a special device and program to talk to the car. Your local car locksmith might not have access to such things. Mine didn’t and outright said I’d be better off just going to Kia.
We just got back from dinner. Mrs. L.A. had lasagne, and I had a calamari steak with piccata sauce. We started with salads and some focaccia. I had two glasses of chianti (the only tim I’ll drink white wine is when there’s no red), and Mrs. L.A. had two limoncellos. We tasted each other’s main dish, and both were excellent.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out and clear (daylight is beginnin’ so I’m good with that), with a predicted high of 90 (BRRR!) and either partly N.O.S., or mostly cloudy this afternoon. TWPTB are willy-nilly on this. The plan of the day is to first go get haircuts (we’re kinda shaggy) and then who knows. If’n there’s sun mayhaps some quality cee-mint pond time. Sup shall be burgers 'n fixin’s with oven fries. Sounds like enough of a plan to me.
MetalMouse looks like we will have no problem with Barry down this way as he’s headed for N’awilns. Flytrap may be in for it today, however. Looks like red and you may get some fallout around Moanday however.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then, bother, alas, and alack, I suppose I should purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. I am currently wearin’ my rat’s ass tshirt. I could wear it to get a haircut but that might not be appropriate. FTR I have also considered wearin’ it to a Vestry meetin’. ![]()
Happy Sattidy Y’all!
We needed a second key fob for the HHR and I was able to get a couple on line. Our regular car guy was able to program them for us, and it was less than $100 total for the pair. But one vehicle we used to own had a key/fob combo that had to come from the dealer for many $$$$$.
Lazing in bed still, but after posting this, I will get up and tend to the critters. Butters, hope the rescue will work for you. A pup-less house is too empty.
Happy Saturday, all!!
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.
G’morning!
Up, caffeinating, breakfasting, towels and sheets in the wash, puppy crate cleaned. I will (finally) get to Lowe’s today for some replacement plants for the (dead) marigolds. I need to make the dish for tomorrow’s potluck with the heathens and fix supper, but most of the day will be chill.
Morning all. Thanks for the info on the car fobs. Usually pay off my credit cards around the 20th each month, so I’ll wait a week and figure I won’t lose the only other fob I have during that time, then go see the dealer.
Butters, hope Brownie and you/Husband-unit work together; pictures of course will be mandatory…
N.O.S. this morning but rain is predicted for the afternoon. A little shopping is needed so I guess I’ll get myself presentable and head out shortly.
One out of three. I’m up.
Caffeine isn’t done yet.
Went out before breakfast and put the second coat of Osmo on the table leaf. It’s looking pretty good. One more coat and then I get to tackle the table top itself, which will likely take me a solid week to refinish.
Off to an AARP neighborhood walk in a couple of hours. I’m not sure it can be considered ‘exercise’ when you walk that slowly, though.
Preach it sister! I get all on edge when the ‘boys’ are at the groomer. The house doesn’t feel right.
Well, The Lavender festival kicked off last night. I was part of the crew handling sales in the art show. We sold over $5k worth of paintings last night and the festival itself doesn’t open officially until today. Last night was the ‘artist’s reception’.
My presence was not required this morning so I’m gonna go to BiMart and pick up Wifey’s prescription and a couple of other necessities in a few. I’ll prolly go check out the food vendors about lunch time. ![]()
Happy Saturday!
It’s a bright and N.O.S. 86 degrees outside.
I’ve gotten some laundry done, some yard irk done, the chair is put together.
I laid out cardboard for my son to put down the mulch. I tried but the bags are too heavy for me to handle.
I just woke him, and if he would get his ass in gear we could get the love seat to the dump before it closes at 3.
I’m going to be really busy at irk for the next two weeks so I’d like to get a lot done this weekend.
Good luck with the pup Butters. I hope it works out for you.
**FCD **and I cut back the branches that interfered with mowing on the side. He used the chain saw on the big ones and I used loppers and nippers and the hedge trimmers as necessary. Then as I cleaned up the stuff we cut down, he mowed the yard.
I discovered as we were working that I have a metric butt-ton of Rose of Sharon bushes! Also some viney things that are a mystery to me. We just want the entire fence to be overgrown with whatever (except for the thorny stuff) to give us a little privacy in the yard.
I just brought in the laundry - it was a perfect drying day! **FCD **is writing up a report on the analysis he did. SIL brought his nephew and niece over while his sister is taking care of leasing a place for them. My daughter is teaching his niece to play the piano and SIL and his nephew are playing a video game. It’s a nice, quiet afternoon.
I’m thinking supper will be leftovers.
Your busy days always put my busy days to shame FCM
I love rose of Sharon, the neighbor has several, and the one I planted in the middle of the patio is doing well.
We got eight bags of mulch down, so the entire area between the patio and the shed is mulched. I may do a little bit more over there, on the neighbor’s side.
There are six bags of mulch left, more than enough to do the area between the deck and the patio, if enough is left over then I’ll do the area between the deck and the fence.
Ripple has way too much fun with mulch, he loves running through it and digging in it.
I gave him a squirt with the hose to get him out of it, but it seems he likes that too.
I finished up the pork roast for dinner, making tacos for the kid once the dishwasher is done.
I have a ham to make for tomorrow, which will last me for a few days.
My new chair is somewhat comfortable, I think I have to get used to it. I wish the arms were a little higher. My son doesn’t like it, says it is too small, but I am shorter than he is so I think it is okay. The other chair is a little bit bigger, so he may like that one better. Not that it matters, whenever he sits in the living room he brings in his chair from the kitchen.
Generally adulting. And in a moment of insanity I signed up for a double tomorrow. I may have to have several doubles of Wigle Deep Cuts tonight just to teach myself some common sense.
I saw an interesting bird at one of the feeders my mom has.
It was a parakeet. Either it was an escapee or wild I do not know. This is NE Kansas, not the usual habitat for parakeets. it does get cold in the winter. It was mostly bright yellow, with a green bib and a little black edging on the wingtips. It looked healthy, and them my mom mentioned she had seen it once before, but had not mentioned it.
Tomorrow is my last day of vacation. I really do not want to go back to work.
We took the trip to Homestead and came home with the rescue. His name is Axel and he knows it but it will be changed. I wanted Brownie but hubs didn’t like that one so we settled on Buddy. He is a few days shy of 4 months so he is just a baby. He is supposed to be a Chihuahua but I think he is a mix of weenie dog and chihuahua so a Chiweenie. He is awful cute. He has had all puppy shots and been wormed but not fixed yet. He did great on the three hour ride back except for a little car sickness which was not a big deal. I don’t know how to post photos but http://www.weepuppypaws.com/RESCUES.html he is the last one on the rescue page named Axel. He has had some obedience classes and loves toys and plays fetch. He was so funny growling at Scooter. He is not my boy Louie but in time I will grow to love him.
The traffic coming back was slow. Go home people and stay gone.
Howdy Y’all! We got haircuts, and went to :eek:Wally*World:eek: to get some foodstuffs since it is next to the haircut place. The sun came out for a while so we hung at the cee-mint pond for a couple of hours. Sup got cooked and et and we continue chill time. A good day!
Butters yay for Buddy! He does look more Chiweenie than Chi-hua-hua.
**Butters **- he’s a cute one! Yay for rescues!
**FCD **and I had leftover pasta, and I’ve been knitting and watching TV ever since. Excellent chillage.
Squee! I think you have a sweet looking boy butters. I kind of like the name Brownie. My sister rescued a pinto chi named Brownie once and homed him with my parents. She was a sweetie.
Cookie, walking at even a slow pace is better exercise than parking your butt on the sofa watching TV.
bumba, I’m like you without being able to see the dog in the place. I accidently shut him in the bedroom when I made the bed this afternoon and within ten minutes, I was looking for him.
I picked up a prescription at CVS this afternoon, then went to Staples to exchange a CO2 cartridge. I was pretty disgusted with the woman at the register there. She had one register tied up with someone who needed more customer service than she could provide, opened up the next one and immediately got into a fifteen minute thing with the guy in front of me about the rewards program while the line got longer and longer. Instead of paging for help (the guys in the print department were just standing around and there were employees walking around the store), sh just let it go on. Once I got out of there, I stopped at Lowe’s to pick up some herb plants to replace the petunias and marigolds that were done. I got them planted and they look good.
Supper was sausage stew and cucumber salad. I also made the middle eastern salad for tomorrow’s potluck. I’s tahred.
