Scarlett was the mother cat who on March 30, 1996 went into a burning building five times to rescue her five kittens, and then collapsed. When she was reunited with her kittens, her eyes were blinded by blisters, but she touched each of them with her nose to make sure they were all rescued.
I was just thinking of her lately. I haven’t read the link yet, but I hope she’s had a great life since then. (and the kittens).
I have a heart full of evil, blacker than Mr Burns’, but that story has always made me wanna bawl.

The story made me well up too. Twelve years after such trauma is a good long life for a kitty. RIP, Scarlett.
