I’d rather they didn’t either. The manufacturers and importers are already anally raping chocolate snobs savagely enough.
I have been to the US a few times and made the mistake of trying some of those famous american foods we hear about over here. Hersheys chocolate? ick. Reeses Peanutbuttter Cups? ick. Oreos? ick.
Giant deli sandwiches with lashings of hot pastrami? mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Steaks? mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
So I learned to stay the hell away from the snackfoods and gorge myself on protein instead. 
I see. I’m no great consumer of sweets, myself. I eat a piece of dark chocolate with a glass of red wine now and again, mainly. None the less, of the foods you mention, I don’t find any of them offensive nor their “premium” counterparts greatly superior. My second wife, now, did love her some snackfoods and confections. When we travelled, one of her constant refrains was that she’d be happy to get back to the US where the cookies and candy were better.
Maybe I was trying to give them a fair chance, to try to see what everyone else seems to see in Hershey chocolate.
Maybe I have a short memory, and forget how bad they were the last time.
Maybe I crave chocolate so bad I’ll even eat Hershey’s on occasion.
Who knows? It’s a rich tapestry.
