Hey, CBS! Talk to the news dept. about Bill Paxton

It’s been three days since the star of Training Day died. The network has yet to acknowledge his loss on their website. No “our condolences to his family,” no clips of memories from cast and crew. Hell, you’d think someone would at least update his bio.

Is he the guy from Near Dark? If so, condolences to his vampire bretheren.

(Checking forum) Is that the guy I wanted to kill about an hour before the Mama Alien did it? Or was that Bill Pullman?

richard lewis or paxton

He’s totally that Near Dark guy. I looked into it.
(Gory vampire movie scene follows…)

Richard Lewis is Dead!?

And not a moment too soon. Wait, Richard Lewis is alive? (Checking IMDB) Okay, at least he isn’t working.

BTW, Training Day: CBS Series to Pay Tribute to Bill Paxton - canceled + renewed TV shows, ratings - TV Series Finale. I, for one, appreciate how CBS News is not as deeply in the pocket of the Entertainment division as ABC News.

No, that was Lewis Black.

William Clark’s co-explorer?

No, no. You’re thinking of Emmanuel Lewis.

Lewis Black was Clark Kent’s exploration partner.

There’s a college names after these guys in… Portland? Or am I thinking of Lois and Clark? Ever since Smallville, I rarely even remember that show… now I’m thinking of Emmanuel Lewis. Dammit, I hate when I do that.

Game over, man. Game over!

James Brown is dead

There is a Lewis and Clark College in Portland, a Clark College across the river in Vancouver, (the real one, not that pretender in BC), a Lewis River, a Lewis and Clark River, Clark County, and don’t get me started on their whole ‘trail’ thing that seems to have crossed the entire US. There is a sign post nearly everywhere they ever stopped to take a shit.

This band had a great publicist/agent. So good that they put him on the US nickel coin.

Unfortunately all their really big hits were lost in a horrible blimp accident.

Thank You! This just in…

…as far as we know, Richard Lewis is STILL NOT DEAD!!!
…more details as we get them… You hang in there Richard…!

That’s what they said about Abe Vigoda.

And the Clark bros were next door neighbors of mine when I was a kid. Separated by a couple hundred years, but close enough to make them almost real. And William Faulkner’s daughter lived up the road, but I read The Sound and the Fury so I’m not sure he’s real.

If you keep going up from Clark County, on the other side of Cowlitz County you will come to Lewis County. Thence, get on US 12 and take it to the far side of the state, where you find the town of Clarkston, and if you are brave enough to venture across the river into Idaho, you will end up in Lewiston (which used to be called “Shithole”, but they found that name to be bad for business, and “Shithole, Idaho” was redundant anyway).

The eulogies for Bill Paxton all spoke of his deeply expressed, Shakespearian abilities as an actor. I am disinclined to fault the dead, and will leave it at that. Seemed like a nice guy, though, which is all one needs on ones tombstone.
