Hey, Chumpsky, how about you enlighten us.

It’s not as though you have any lack of bullshit to say. So, capitalism doesn’t work in your opinion. Fine. So, the military is a puppet organization for “Fortune 500 companies”. OK.

However, nowhere in your multitude of posts do I see anything about your ideal government. All I see is constant deconstruction of other people’s ideas. Any jerk can say “nanny nanny boo boo, you’re wrong and I’m right but I’m not telling you why”. And I think you’re a jerk of the highest order.

So, here’s your chance. Come clean and tell us, the unwashed, exploitative, evil capitalists what we should be doing instead of what you think we’re doing wrong. If you dare.

I think you’ll punk out just like always. Hell, even Lib takes his relatively unpopular beliefs, airs them out, and takes his lumps. God knows I’ve never been afraid to say what I thought. But you, sir, are a coward. I know you’ll punk out, just like always.

It’s too bad that I have to try and bait you. People like you generally have some integrity. It’s clear to me that you do not, hence the need for this.

So, I anxiously await your latest bullshit, or weak excuse, either/or.

Oh, boy, I can’t wait. Problem is, he ignored his previous Pit thread, so I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for him to show up in this one. Just a suggestion, but you might consider toning your call-out down a bit and launching a thread in GD.

One thing for sure, when it finally comes, it’ll be, in best Politburo tradition, one of those droning three-hour stemwinders of the sort practiced by Brezhnev and Castro, among others.

Might wanna watch the syntax there, chief.

I don’t think it’s entirely fair to criticize the OP as “trolling”, even if it is self-proclaimed “baiting.” Baiting a single poster to respond has been done numerous times, especially to Lib during my time here.

For the capitalist tool and servant of the rich and powerful, I have stated plenty of times that I am a socialist.

BTW, shouldn’t you be working on honing your killing abilities? There are lots and lots of brown people out there that your masters will be asking you to kill in the next few years. They can’t get seem to get it into their heads that the wealth from their countries is supposed to flow to Wall Street, so you will have to kill them and steal their resources.

Better get back to practice!

Bah. 2 points for showing up but no more; no grand utopian worldview before the same old same old routine shows up again.

C’mon, you can do better than that. Socialist like a Bushman? A Carmelite nun? A Swede? A Red Guard? What?

Airman Doors, USAF, don’t waste your time with this boob.

What do you want? An entire constitution and grand plan for a utopian society? A recipe for real changes that could take place today under the current system? Well…

In the long term: I would like to see a transition to a socialist state with full participatory planning on the part of the populace and total economic democracy. In order for a socialist revolution to survive and thrive, it will be necessary for there to be a global socialist revolution, a truly international workers movement. This was recognized by Lenin, Trotsky, and the other leaders of the Russian revolution, and then repudiated by Stalin’s counter-revolution. Once a socialist society has been established, the long-term goal is to reduce the role of the state to purely administrative tasks to lead to pure egalitarian communism.

In the short term: There are plenty of things we could do to make our society more egalitarian, democratic and humane. Here are a few things:

  1. Raise the minimum wage to $12 and provide jobs to everyone willing to work.
  2. Raise the tax-exemption level to $50 k per year for families.
  3. Raise the marginal tax rates to 80% on income over $200 k.
  4. Radically alter foreign policy to re-orient the military toward purely defensive purposes: remove all foreign military bases, cut the military budget to $30 billion and put the remainder into social services and international aid programs, and work to strenghten international law and nuclear disarmament.
  5. Democratize the media: outlaw TV advertising to children; outlaw paid political advertisements; mandate that 4 hours per day of the major channels be given over to public, democratic broadcasting for educational and news services. Pay for it with a tax on the major media corporations.
  6. Publicly fund all education up to the Ph.D. level.
  7. Socialize health care.
  8. Electoral reform: Institute proportional representation and instant run-off voting to end the two-party system.
  9. Put an end to the corporate personhood fiction.
  10. Form a Truth and Reconciliation Commission to investigate past crimes committed by the U.S. national security state, punish those responsible for crimes in Latin America, Indochina, the Middle East and elsewhere, and pay reparations to all of our victims.
  11. Execute Henry Kissinger.

OK, that last one really doesn’t have much to do with making a better society, and I am opposed to the death penalty in general. But I really, really hate Henry Kissinger, and am willing to make an exception in his case. His execution will engender much good-will toward the U.S. around the world.

I like him. He’s funny. Unintentionally so, but what do you expect.

Out of interest, what do you do for a living, Chumpsky?

Fluffer.

Fluffer? It shows.

Well, that’s certainly a dramatic and interesting list. How about you take, say, the first three and walk us through how you’d like to pull it off? I’m sure you don’t want a dollar to be worth twenty cents, but that is one way to do it.

Are you in favor of mass unemployment resulting from the dramatic rise in minimum wage? Why only eighty percent in taxes? Why not 95 (England, ca Taxman), or 110 (As happened to the lady who wrote Pippi Longstockings)? What do you think the most probable outcome of raising the taxes so high would be? Would you raise Corporate Income Tax to that level as well?

OK Airman, you got your response. What now?

Erm, can we ask him some questions based on the response?

For example, how does he reconcile his democratic media with the state controlled system he then describes (outlaw tv ads to children, etc)

Airman wrote:

I feel so honored. Like being slapped by Elizabeth, her majesty. :stuck_out_tongue:

I actually agree with points 6-10. And point 11 could be discussed. Maybe stocks and rotten vegetables, though?

This is funnier than you guys in the US can possibly imagine.

Hey, Chumpsky, Sweden calling.

We did this. We did all of this during the 70’s, 80’s and early 90’s. Well except for killing off Kissinger.
And you know what it led too? Central bank interest rate at 500%. Mass unemployment. A country going almost bankrupt (as those pesky right-wing banana republics tend to do).

Oh, and what else…? Maybe that Sweden dropped from being #2 on the OECD welfare list, to #17 in 20 years.

So, at the last congress of the Socialdemocrat party (in government right now and for the next four years), this socialist party, in what most Americans would calll a very liberal country, added the following to its socialist party program:
“The welfare of the state is based on wealth created by private enterprise.”

'Nuff said.

Also, don’t forget what Hayek’s Nobel prize was for: socialism fails because it destroys the very information by which prices are set.

I honestly didn’t think you’d show. You surprised me. Thank you.

Now we actually got something to work with. Now that I know what you believe in I’ll be more able to judge your opinions. For the record, I still think you’re a loon, but not quite the loon I thought you were.

How do you propose that this society stays afloat? Sooner or later you’ll run out of rich corporations to fleece, so who pays then? Who provides jobs? Do they just come out of nowhere? If nobody pays taxes up to $50K, who pays? It shouldn’t be too long until nobody makes that much, since there won’t be any incentive to invest in businesses and the jobs will go away.

And the military. Your favorite hard-on. Tell me more about what you would want to do about the military. I’m curious.
Now’s your chance to lay it all out, Chumpsky.

Erm, any chance you could explain to me how you’re going to have inter company contracts if you action point 9?
