The Republican Party: The main supporters of the American family, so long as that family make at least a hundred grand a year. Brought to us by the American Way, and pimped to us by the richest one percent.
The Libertarian Party: How do they plan to run this country without taxes? Elves and faeries? And have you ever seen their candidate for president? He looks like death warmed-over in a microwave.
The Reform Party: A freak show and retirement home for celebrities and crackpots (emphasis on the “crack”). It’s a fuckin’ circus, with Jesse Ventura as the strong man. “Billy was such a good boy, until he ran off to join the Reform Party.”
The Democratic Party: It feels like a waste to vote for those ineffectual mamby-pamby idiots. These guys would be hemorrhaging money from their collective asses if they weren’t stopping the flow with their heads. How many democrats does it take to screw in a lightbulb? About ten trillion dollars.
The Green Party: Heh, sounds like the kinda party I’d like to go to. Is it bring your own green? I would make fun of these guys, if I had any idea who they were. I think they’re somewhere on the ballot, maybe in the fine print.
Congratulations, Freaky, you win the official “SPOOFE Prize For Most Bline”. The subtext says “For being completely unable to even take the slightest glimpse at anything position and focusing his entire feeble-minded attention on the stereotypical negative aspects, ones that, may I add, are perpetuated by repetitive stand-up comedy and ‘The Simpsons’ episodes.”
Along with the certificate, you win this nice leather jacket with the words “Beat me to a bloody pulp” on the back.
You made a mistake SPOOFE? And here I was kicking myself for having such an inadequate dictionary since it didn’t have the definition of bline.
Hey FF, your frustrations are those of many voters , but The United States still seems to be about the best nation out there. Other countries do parts of it better than the US, but overall I still the the USA is hard to beat.
Really? Why is the French system so much worse? The Japanese system? The Australian system?
I’ll fully accept that democracy is the best form of government, but I think if you’re going to assert that the US political system is better than any other in the world, you might want to try and advance some kind of argument, or make some kind of detailed comparisons.
Not exactly, but I identify with that structure more than any other.
This is technically true. If you take all the countries in the world into the equation, America definitely scores into at least the top fifty percent. But most of Europe has us beat, in my opinion (of course, I think that’s pretty much assumed). I mean, Sweden doesn’t even have a lowe class.
Spoofe, are you stalking me?
Well, I could have entitled it “What I Love About America” but then it wouldn’t exactly be pit-worthy, would it?
And hey, don’t be dissin’ The Simpson unless you want me to go Atomic Man on yo ass!
Yeah, sure. You first.
The reason we’re so hard to beat is because we have so much money. And the reason we have so much money is because of the second world war. But that’s starting to wear off, and the rest of the world is catching up fast (except maybe for Asia and the Middle-East).
That’s the fuckin’ problem with this country. Everybody thinks it’s their country. No, it’s everybody’s country. And your opinion is no more important than mine.
And for what it’s worth, I’m leaving for Sweden in two months. Much better country than this one.
If I were going to be here for the elections, I probably would too. My default is The Democratic Party. They’re the only one who’s opinions somewhat resembles mine, and has some chance of winning.
Good, one less welfare case to worry about. Actually, I hear good things about Sweden. I hope you have a nice time, and try some of the Swedish Vodka - some of the best.
Well, now, we don’t want to start any wars (online), like the one with the Canuks, but this is really subjective, and your opinion is as good as anyone else’s, but care to back this up with anything? 'Cause if you are refering to the lack of a lower class, I could argue this with you friend. The fact that a lower class does not exist does not speak for quality of life, freedoms enjoyed by all citizens, etc.
The US does have a lower class, but not all due to our system of Goverment, although that’s part of it. It’s just that people are free to make choices about their education, social life, etc. which could lead to a less than happy existance (No agency yet to watch over every person to make sure they do minimally well, although it’s headed that way). In Sweden I believe certain things are decided for the Citizens, and of course, certain freedoms are removed. Well, I’m not an expert on Swedish Law or Government, but I’m not the one who started a thread called “The Reason I hate America”. So, please do explain WHAT IN THE FUCK YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT, MORON!
By the way, are you an American? Have you lived here for some time? What’s the real reason you post like this? Something got you down?
Yes, I am an American. I’ve lived herre my entire life, 19 years. And yes, something always has me down. It’s just a matter of how many things have me up.
You’re right, it’s also because of the money hungry bastards who control this country.
Unfortunately, it’s a fact that certain freedoms can’t be provided. Such as, you can’t make people free to kill others, because then they might actually do it. You always have to draw the line somewhere. And I’m not claiming that Sweden is perfect. But it’s a whole helluva lot better than our country.
Actually, that’s exactly what it speaks of. To my mind at least. Perhaps your logic work differently than mine. And personally, if I had to pick I’d much rather be completely happy than completely free. But since neither is being offered by anyone, I’ll just have to do with what I can get.
Sorry, I thought I made it rather clear what I was talking about. Should I use smaller words? You’d do well not to start a flame war with me, especially if you haven’t the proper weapons.
FF, you’ve made this assertion, but you haven’t given any specific instances of Sweden’s superiority. I’d like to know on what basis you have formed this opinion. You should read the chapter on Sweden in P.J. O’Rourke’s book, Eat The Rich. You will find it enlightening.
I most certainly did. There’s no lower class, and that’s just one of the reason Sweden is better. Would you like me to expand on that?
Great social programs, college is free, and they have a great assistance program for students, no guns, very little violence, and basically just a higher standard of living.
Yes, I did. And no, I didn’t. He’s a funny man, but he’s wrong. All I saw in that chapter was someone prejudiced against socialism and desperately trying to find something wrong with it.
Freaker:
Apparently you don’t like having so many choices. Suggest you try someplace where the politbureau would severely limit those choices. How about Cuba? I’m sure Fidel could accomodate you.
