Hey, GENE STONER, you're a liar.

People, people, people! Let’s get back on track here.

GENE STONER is a Xaviera Hollander’s cum-catcher because of the simple fact that he SHOUTS HIS NAME EVERY TIME HE POSTS.

That he’s a racist, homophobic, sexist xenophobe is just the icing on the shitcake that is Mr. Stoner.

Givin’ stoners everywhere a bad name. . .

Also, he’s been added to my List Of People Who Are Totally Irrational…

Like the Ku Klux Klan?

Yeah, the Amerika schtick has had some interesting turns in it.

Kafka’s use didn’t get it started, but once it started, people liked to point to Kafka and his intense dislike of society and government as an inspiration.

The original usage was entirely left-wing, using the German spelling to suggest (or emphasize) a “relationship” between the U.S. and Nazi Germany. (This is simply a historical reference; I don’t think I’m invoking Godwin’s Law, here.)

It took it’s ironic turn with the TV series. The Cyrillic version of “America” does use a K. Yhe RIC are replaced by the Cyrillic borrowings from Greek, Rho (looks like a P), Eta (Cyrillic version looks like an H with an upward slanted crossbar) Kappa:

  Àìåðèêå

The reversed “R” of the show was just silly, of course, but it is TV. From then on, the use of Amerika grew in Right-wing circles, as well as Left-wing groups. Pretty soon, anyone with a beef against the current establishment was using Amerika.

Not even “code” will get Cyrillic to display here. I shoulda tested in ATMB.

Xaviera is still known over there? Ye gads. She lives a few streets away from me now, and looks all, errr, worn out. Plus, she’s a real bitch, or so I hear.
Wow, I had never expected to see HER name on these boards!

Stumbling across The Happy Hooker at age 11 is not something someone easily forgets.

Trust me, stumbling across the writer of said book late at night is a bit of a scare too, even at 28.

Not to mention, a reversed R in Cyrillic is the sound “ya”, as in, Katya, Tanya, Vanya, etc etc.

Well, that was what I meant by silly. Americans tend to have a vague memory that Russia has a “reversed R” with absolutely no concept of the phoneme it represents. Hence, the production manager of a TV show throws in a reversed R instead of a Rho (or whatever it is called in Cyrillic) and makes the show look silly to anyone who has paid a slight bit of attention to any language outside 'Mer’can.

Well, “Amepika” looks kind of stupid and doesn’t generate the right sort of knee-jerk response. So “rho” is out.

Dammit people! Why do I have to come back here to refocus this thread. I’ve been to 3 bars tonight, but here I am, almost 5 in the morning, and I’m here reminding everyone that this thread is not about the Cyrllic alphabet. It’s about GENE STONERS obnoxiously capitalized username.

Oh, and all his other faults. Including Spoof’s aforementioned irrationality.

From here.

[sup]I’ll admit that even I was sidetracked for a while, but I was discussing Xaveira Hollander for chrissakes![/sup]

Hey, he is a neurobiologist:

And a dead dairy farmer:

Although I’m going with the dead weapons designer:

Oh, why don’tcha just say it looks like a backwards N ? Then everyone’ll know what’cha mean.

'Cause on the fonts that I have seen, it doesn’t extend from the bottom of the left vertical to the top of the right vertical, so, to me, it doesn’t look like a backward N. I am no expert in Cyrillic, so perhaps the fonts I have seen are modified for artistic purposes.

(Sorry, Biggirl, but ranting on GENE STONER has gotten boring–and I hadn’t even thrown any stones. (Not that reading his strange views of the world are any fun.))

Amerika was the preferred spelling during the early 80’s American hardcore punk rock daze

Hell, CF, she’s still making serious bank writing a monthly advice column for Penthouse.

Can I get a copy of this list? Just wanna make sure I’m not on it.

First, let me make it perfectly clear to all involved that I am not defending Gene Stoner’s commentary, attitudes, etc.

That being said, it should be noted that many libertarians, anarchists, conservatives and other people opposed to governmental regulation and intrusion into private lives/activities refer to California as the PRC. I haven’t seen anyone I know in any of those groups use the “K” thing; so maybe that’s more of a John Birch-y kind of thing?

Anyway, since California is considered the most socialist and regulated state in the union and often leads new cultural trends that most of us in the aforementioned camps despise, the “PRC” term is in common use. I just wanted to make sure that those of use who use PRC aren’t automatically identified lock, stock and barrel with dipshits like GENE.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled bashing.
