Hey, I'm a cat lady, you know?

My husband is a childless cat-man.

You funny. Mr. Fish!

I’m sure he’d be a “southern, hick, granny, catfish catcher, lover of da 'possum Lady” racist.

Just 'cause he thinks he can.

DEIdan huh?

I have had a thought.

Vance thinks people without children don’t care about what happens in the future.

So Vance thinks people only care about what happens to their immediate kin.

So that must be how Vance thinks himself.

So if you know people defending Vance – point that out to them. And then ask them – if you’re not close kin to Vance, why do you think he gives a shit what happens to you?

He’s trying to say it was sarcasm. He doesn’t have a problem with cats.

That leaves his problem with childless women. What an idiot.
He said this recently. Like today.

He’s increased his vile crap. In my book.
Just think, he’d be a heartbeat away from the worst president there ever was.
Good grief.

Yup, a must read:

It’s paywalled, can you summerize?

It’s an expose about Vance’s association with the neo-fascist “new right” that wants to remake America and who are willing to take extreme action to do so. An excerpt:

“We are in a late republican period,” Vance said later, evoking the common New Right view of America as Rome awaiting its Caesar. “If we’re going to push back against it, we’re going to have to get pretty wild, and pretty far out there, and go in directions that a lot of conservatives right now are uncomfortable with.”

Gives one, pause.

A cold shiver down my spine. Treasonous bastards.

How did we go from JFK asking Eisenhower for advice at a camp David meeting to this republic threatening situation?

didn’t ike and JfK if not like at least respect each other? they had a few things in common …

Wow:

I don’t pay too much attention to gaffes or gotcha journalism. People misspeak or have ill-considered words.

This, however, was planned. Vance unveiled it to a think tank, repeated it on Tucker Carlson without caveats regarding the infertile, and recently double downed on the remarks.

It’s a miscalculation in my view. Vance was trying to make a premeditated clever point that (bonus!) was offensive. That’s not how Trump the demagogue does things. You can be thought provoking with a policy oriented audience, or you can be offensive while pandering to the mob’s worst instincts. Vance’s remarks do neither: most of the mob likes their pets and knows the difficulties some women have with child bearing. The mob has higher standards. Furthermore unlike Trump, Vance doesn’t mouth off with a different message to the mob every day, so this single unflattering remark sticks in the public’s mind. Sure Trump is offensive, but it’s always in the service of pandering to the mob, not making a weird point.

Speaking as a human, denigrating families with adopted kids and step-children is the stuff of villainy. Cite: Brothers Grimm.

I’m wondering what Trump is thinking about now?

Well, Disney too.
Any nice stepmothers?
They’re all evil.

Hmm?

(Yeah, I know Walt stole all those stories)

excellent

and, words

You think he thinks?

Childless (by choice) cat lady here. If you see any particularly cool T-shirts like that, please share! If I were going to be in the U.S. on Election Day, I might wear it to the polls. I might wear it to drop off my absentee ballot, anyway.
