I did mine yesterday (as I was home on the couch not feeling well - bonus was that I had time to Valentine!).
Now I just need to go to the Post Office and get postage for them. But I promise you all (on my list) WILL INDEED get love notes from me. It just won’t be on Friday.
Beats me, Ryan_Liam, you weren’t on my list
But the wonderful postal employee said that those I sent to Canada should arrive around Tuesday, and the one to Australia should land next Thursday or so.
Add mine to the slightly late pile…
the brilliant idea for a card was foiled by a number of incorrect assumptions (and hubris) and flat out destroyed with the glue that wouldn’t stick.
Still enjoyed making them… and the ones that are going the farthest will begin their journeys today. (The ones that will not be travelling as far will go tomorrow.)
Of course, it helps that twickster lives in the same city as I do… The card was beautiful, though Verrain opened it while I was putting away groceries and swore because he didn’t realize that Dopers have a tendency to put cool confetti in Valentine’s Day cards. I loved it, though. Very beautifully done.
I wish I could say mine were more than store-bought cards written using glitter ink, but I was doing 16 things at once and didn’t have the time to make them as special as I had planned. I still hope you all like them. They went out in this morning’s mail. So keep your eyes out for a card from TP…
As a poor college student starving for mail in a particularly dry spell of no mail for months, I have been stalking my mailbox every day since I posted to participate. I can’t wait for the oodles of happiness!
my letters usually arrive in essex before they get to california when mailed on the same day just to give you an idea.
oh and I sent mine out yesterday
Hey, it just occurred to me that not everyone might be aware that it’s a tradition in certain parts of the South (in the vicinity of my home, in fact) to be a little bit late in sending valentines cards out. So please don’t take it personally or worry that I forgot anyone. I love you all, but my love comes a little later than most, so to speak.
And to reassure anyone still on pins and needles, yes, they did make it to the mailbox, so it’s not like they’ll be as late as the Christmas cards I’m sending out to my family and friends next week.
And I’m REALLY looking forward to getting some valentines in the mail, since I just received a final copy of divorce papers from my now-ex last week. At least the long separation has given me time to adjust, so I’m actually pretty fine now.
Have fun all. (I hope you like Blues Clues cards. )
I got a couple in yesterday’s mail, and a bunch in today’s. Now to figure out where to put them so that next time I’m feeling a bit down, I can look at them.
