I loved them and would convince my dad to buy them for the entire family as a treat. Then, I’d scarf up everyone’s points card. I don’t recall what the prize was.
Haha. I’m almost 100% sure that’s where I saw it over the weekend. That said, I think I see them in some Chicago or Chicago-area gas stations, too. Also, when I go out east to visit my in-laws in Pennsylvania, but they’re made out there, so no surprise. While I don’t like Mallo Cups, the Boyer Candy version of peanut butter cups I do quite like.
The prize was a box of Mallocups, like 25 of them, I redeemed it a few times as I was “head candy girl” at my Catholic school where the nuns sold candy at lunch time.
I clicked @Reeses_Monkey 's link and saw that Mallo Cups are ubiquitous in Ohio gas stations too so I’ll be able to grab some without going to the specialty store.
I asked my boyfriend about Mallo Cups yesterday and he said his buddy was obsessed with Mallo Cup Points in the 90s. Not having ever eaten any I said “what like Camel points?” and he said yes. Apparently you could collect points from the package and exchange them for goodies… AND YOU STILL CAN.
I asked what his buddy did with his points and he said nothing. Never redeemed them, just collected them. Kids are dumb.
Hmmm, maybe he still has them! ‘Cause who wouldn’t want to be rockin’ this?

Ha, when I was a kid I liked the Seven Up candy bar. I thought it was sophisticated when I was about 8.
Hey, sometimes variety IS sophistication, at any age.
I wasn’t much of a candy bar eater when I was a kid, but I did like Zero bars.
ETA: I just googled Zero bar and didn’t recognize the wrapper. Didn’t they used to have a polar bear on them… or am I making that up?
They had a few earlier versions of wrapper.
Yes, that’s what I think I remember.
And now, I want a Whizzer engine!
And it was one of the few (only?) candy bars I can remember that was dark chocolate. Oooooh.
Maybe that’s why I liked them. I’m not a fan of milk chocolate.
The last Mallo Cups I bought were from Cracker Barrel, but I often find them in the supermarket and get them on a whim.
