I haven’t been on south LSD for a few months, but today I was driving north past Soldier Field and noticed something new. A building I had never noticed before, partially obscuring the CNA Building. It looked like it was just south of the CNA, shaped like a big slab, but with a bit of an “hour glass” waist in the middle. The surface looked like blue and gray checkerboard.
Anyone know what this is? And if they just built it from scratch over the summer? Thanks!
So it isn’t just me! I literally was driving my SO to her job this morning and said “how long has that building been there?” Neither of us had any idea. I just assumed it was one of those buildings that have been there for years and that I only just noticed because I decided to pay attention.
You’re right to be surprised. . . as far as tall buildings go here in Chicago, this one had an aggressive construction schedule. . . construction started mid-April of 2010. . .
