Trump didn’t brag about grabbing your penis.
Give him time. He’s working his way around to personally offending each and every person in the United States, but one person can only do so much, especially when is surrounded by people whose entire job is to apologize, rationalize, and excuse his behavior.

His hands are too small.
I created this thread: http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=811097
…not knowing that this existed.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, as long as you’re a good person, it shouldn’t be on your shoulders what other people ‘like you’ are doing.
Blaming people based on there gender or race is not only a turn-off, it’s alienating your allies who happen to be agreeing with you on a fundamental level.
I’m a poor straight white man who dropped out of college, I have some learning disabilities which may be able to get me some brownie points from the far left… but I voted for Hillary and give ZERO f*cks about her being a woman.
Obama knew not to make such a big deal about being the first black president. People don’t like to be told who to vote for just they share a commonality.
This is turning people off.
Essentially the article’s point is that one thing all women share is being women (duh!). And as such the key point is *not *that you should vote for a woman candidate because she is a woman.
But rather that you should not vote for a serial (as yet unconvicted) sex offender who happens to be male and prefers female victims.
In the article’s worldview, that issue trumps (heh :)) all others. Don’t vote misogynist sex offenders into positions of power; it won’t end well for women such as yourself.
I’m not agreeing with that POV. But it seems simple enough to understand. Nobody is much surprised that Trump failed to carry the Latino vote in the Southwest.
Single issue politics is far from a Left-only obsession these days.
Depends on where you put it.
Not really. I don’t concern myself with fairy tales like “All my ‘liberal’ friends will suddenly decide to buy mirrors and decide winning is more important than snarky chuckles”
I think the expectation wasn’t based solely on your shared urination practices. It also had to do with Trump’s pussy grabbing comments and accusations, trophy wives, looks/menstruation based attacks on women he battled with and other things. But I guess women wanted to make America great again even if they needed to elect a shithead to do it! Maybe they expect so little from men that Trump’s style wasn’t remotely shocking.
That in and of itself is kind of horrifying. When I asked one female Trump booster (who is so adverse to profane language that she can’t stand someone saying, “damn” in front of her) how she could vote for a candidate who spoke to and about women the way he did her response was that, “All men are like that even if they don’t say it; look at Bill Clinton.” It’s not so much misogyny as it is tacit acceptance that this is just how men will behave if the circumstances permit it.
Although Trump probably won’t last very long in office (I give even odds that he’ll quit out of disinterest once his “blind trust” gets sufficient contracts or will be forced to resign within two years) he has irreversibly changed the perception of what is acceptable for a candidate to say by normalizing behavior and language one wouldn’t accept from an ill-behaved child. Clinton didn’t lose because people wouldn’t vote for any female candidate, but she was absolutely the recipient of insults that would not be levied at a male candidate, and she was burdened with a set of paradoxical expectations that no male candidate would have to live up to. That should have actually worked in her favor in garnering support from women across the board; instead, there was a largely indifferent response from women voters who accepted Trump as just being how men are.

Let’s accept that her personal experiences are real. Now…
FDR, Eisenhower, JFK, Johnson, Clinton
hmmm…this list is shorter than I thought it would be.
You can’t - he is Constitutionally ineligible for a third term.

I put mine in the junk drawer with all the other random shit I no longer use.
Another aspect too is that outside the liberal bubble, most people define sexism and racism by their traditional meanings rather than “any thought, word or action a woman or minority member somewhere might not like or perchance be offended by” (or which might be seen that way by passing SJWs).
Therefore, most of the people who voted for Trump do not in fact see him as racist or sexist.
I saw a pollster awhile back.
He said when they poll tested using a woman candidate with women AND made the “vote for her because woman!” it really backfired with women.
So, women in fair amounts just not liking Hillary AND the woman card being played would explain a lot about the pussy grabber doing as well as he did with women.
That is a patently ridiculous claim. Many times during this campaign and prior to it Trump has made statements that were openly misogynistic and racist by any standard, to the extent that people have had to talk around or euphonize his statements to be suitable for broadcast. The Trump supporters who do not acknowledge his misogyny and racism are doing so by overlooking those statements or claiming that he didn’t actually mean what he said.

No one has said this. Strawmanning like this is a shitty thing to do.
One of Clinton’s biggest strengths was her pursuit of women’s rights, even back when she was just a lawyer. And one of her opponents biggest faults was that he is extremely misogynistic, to the point of saying he could sexually assault women because he was famous and had a lot of money.
The point is not that you vote because she had a vagina. It’s because there was only one candidate who gave a shit about women at all. It’s ridiculous to vote for the guy who sees you as a second class citizen–or worse.
Eisenhower was a womanizer? I was not aware of this!
I wondered about that too and looked it up on wiki. I think the answer is in the bio note.
“6 years his junior!” - Wanted a young girl he could control.
" A November wedding date in Denver was moved up to July 1 due to the pending U.S. entry into World War I." - He had obviously date raped and impregnated her.
“In their first 35 years of marriage, they moved many times”. He had to keep one step ahead of the law.
That one would actually be “outside the white, Christian male bubble.”
But it’s always useful to have the demographic with the least first hand experience with racism, sexism, and religious bigotry tell us what really is and is not racist, sexist, or bigoted.
I’m referring to the alleged affair with Kay Summersby. After reading around its my personal preference to side with her. I’m sure the universe will forgive me…Ike being so relevant these days.
