Hey, writers! No publishing, no accolades, just writing.

Cool!

I hit 2600 in 2 hours last night. I think I’ve figured out a strategy. Let’s hope my luck continues!

I am in too, and hope to get some quality writng time in this month as well,

This is going to be neat. I’m at 4212, and was even briefly on page one of the word count board (though I’m not fixating on that.) I was out sick today, and had all day to write.

I figure if I keep a steady pace of 2000 words a day, I’ll be done by the 30th. Or even a little earlier.

Just over 11,000 words, now. And so, SO weird. An excerpt:

“How do I know when I catch one?” Tigby asked

“Oh, you’ll feel it!” laughed his father. If you start to feel a tug, hand the pole over to me and I’ll reel it in."

“Like now?” asked Tigby, his voice rising with concern. The pole was bending and trying to pull itself out of his grip.

His father’s eyes widened as he clasped his own pole between his knees and took Tigby’s smaller one. “Well, I’ll be! You’ve got one! Already!” He reeled madly, as Tigby stood and leaned forward, peering into the depths for a glimpse at his catch. His tail feathers puffed proudly when it came into sight, a big grey fish with flashing eyes.

Tigby’s father netted the fish and readied a shot of Euthan-All. The struggling beast swore and spat, aggressively spreading its greasy fins. “I’m a baaad little! I’m an eeeevil little!” it growled menacingly. Tigby shivered at the fish’s nasty talk, and was relieved when his father administered the shot.

“Wow! Twenty-three inches!” His dad rolled up the tape measure, and clapped Tigby on the back. “Not bad for a first try!”

Tigby grinned. Fishing was fun.

I have an outline.
