Hi all! Just back from Savannah

The title pretty much says it. We got back from our trip to Savannah yesterday. It’s a beautiful city and we had a great time. Thanks for the recommendations too. We ate at The Lady and Sons Thursday night. Great food. We also went to Elizabeth on 37th, The Olde Pink House, Sorry Charlies, Clary’s, SusaBelles and Masato (I think that’s it. It’s a Japanese steakhouse)

We also did a bus tour and ghost walk which was entertaining even to a nonbeliever. We did have a little trouble with the ghost walk though. We made a reservation for Thursday night at 9:30. At 9:15 we showed up as requested by the John Wesley monument and waited. There was another couple there too. At 10:00 we finally gave up waiting for the guide who never showed. We decided to take a walk on our own and were back in that square at about 10:20, to find a group getting ready for a tour and a guide who matched the description of the one we were to have. At that point we decided to go ahead and head to the motel. The next morning I called the ghost walk company and complained. The woman I spoke to was apologetic and said she didn’t understand what happened. She did offer to comp us if we wanted to do it on Friday so we agreed and it was entertaining.

The Telfair house museum and Owens Thomas house are both very impressive, although neither of us cared for the Ray Ellis exhibit at the Telfair. Just not our styles.

Tybee Island was pretty cool too, as was Bonaventure Cemetery.

The weather was agreeable and the temp. didn’t even get into the high 80’s until Wednesday so it was pretty nice, but rather hot on Saturday.

All in all, I heartily recommend it to anybody else.

“Hi all!”? You come back from Savannah, Georgia, sayin’ “Hi all”? Dint they tech ya how to say that? Repeat after me: “Hi, y’all!”

Yay! Glad to hear you enjoyed it. I always wonder about those “Tell me what to do in…” threads.

You know, it’s funny. We heard people who sounded like your basic “Suthunuhs” and people who sounded like they were in New York. There were only a few who had very deep drawls and I didn’t hear anybody say “y’all.”

Glad to hear that you enjoyed your trip. What did you think of The Olde Pink House?

Very good food, and a nice place. We didn’t encounter any ghosts. I had a crispy Flounder in a Thai style sauce that was excellent.

Didja meet up with MrBlueSky?

I was on Tybee a couple of years ago, and found the people quite friendly, although the B&B was a bit expensive for what was provided.

Bike trail was kinda rough, but I enjoyed cycling through the old Fort just outside of Tybee.
