Hello, Cool. You came at kind of a weird time, there’s this guy messing with all the threads. I want to assure you that under normal circumstances some pretty good debates go on here.

Cool- as Manhattan said, it’s a bit weird right now; imagine visiting Seattle during the WTO riots. It’s a great place, really, we’re just in the middle or really weird times right now.
Anyways, peruse the threads, read what people are saying, and if you feel you can add to the debate, jump in with both feet. Just as a warning, though- we have a lot of experts on nearly every field, and when you make a statement, you need to be able to back it up with evidence if you expect to be taken seriously.

One of the disadvantages is that you get weirdos who decide that the only way to have fun is to disrupt matters, start up pointless threads in order to indulge in fantasy, and make veiled threats towards other members who don’t take you ‘seriously.’
The offending personage has been banned, and the threads he/she/wacko started have been moved to the Pit, the eternal resting place for angry, violent, and obscene arguments.
