Hi, I'm not new here.

Hello! I’ve been around here for quite awhile but I just changed my user name due to becoming employed with a contractor to the federal government.

My previous username was made of elements of my real name, which is stupid, I know. At the time I registered on the Dope I didn’t realize I would like the place and stick around and by the time I thought ‘maybe I should change the name’ I had so many posts that I just said what the hell. At the time I had about 30 years into a job where the owners really wouldn’t have cared what I said on the interwebs.

But things change.

So the annoying user formerly known as ghardester has assumed the name of my tortoiseshell cat, because she can’t sue me, although she will probably try.

And fortunatly there is another guy named Grant who uses ghardester as his email user name on the web, probably a distant relative. If an issue comes up he gets the credit, sorry cousin.

Seriously though, I doubt that there is anything I have posted that I wouldn’t stand behind. Just being prudent.

Just so you know where this Dallas dude came from.

You need to e-mail TubaDiva@aol.com to facilitate the name change.

He’s reporting something that has already been taken care of.

Wow. So it’s like one of us has a time machine.

Something like that.

Dallas Jones - cool name. We’re planning to name our next cat The Magnificent Fangmeyer, but I don’t think I’ll change my name to that.

Whenever I see a message board poster using an apparently real name, I instantly think: “Middle aged dude who doesn’t understand that what they post on the internet can come back to haunt him years later.” :stuck_out_tongue:

Welcome!

In this case the more-apparently real name is believed more anonymous than the apparently constructed one, so make no assumptions.
