I’d like to change my handle. I’ve never truly identified with Canthearya and it is not descriptive of me…
What’s the deal with name changes?

But didn’t that name win you some sort of award? “Most Confusing Username”, or some such? Such marks of distinction are not to be laid aside lightly. I know I’d be durn proud, were it I.
Let me at least advise you that changing a user name you’ve had for a long time can be quite a jarring experience. It took months for me to adjust, and I was quite surprised at my reaction.
But if you really don’t like Canthearya, go for it. FWIW, I kinda like your current name.

Like these guys said, changing your name should not be undertaken lightly. For my part, I’ve always enjoyed thinking about what an “arya” might be and why you’d want to can it.
I couldn’t figure out how to pronounce Canthearya at all for the longest time. Tried all kinds of things… cantheereya? Canthereeya? I dunno…
Then after reading some thread on usernames and their pronuncaitions, I finally got it. Very much a “DUH!” moment.
But if you want to change it, go ahead. Just make it more easy to figure out the pronunciation, will you?

Anyways…if you do change your name, be sure to post your sig the way Ringo did, mentionning who you were, and please do so for quite a while…sometimes it takes time to catch on

I for one never liked the Canthearya name. It seemed to me to be kind of snooty. I always wanted to say "can’t hear me – well maybe if I YELL REAL LOUD YOU CAN HEAR ME!!!
Then again, this adversion may reflect more on me than on you.
