It’s also weird that the “Thread Starter” field on the forum display still says Canthearya, but (at the time I’m writing this) the last post is listed as being by Gazelle from Hell.

Well, when your name was Canthearya, we could call you Canny for short. Now that it’s not, we can call you Uncanny.
Thus it is, and thus shall it always be. Name changes retroactively change the name in posts, but not in “thread starter” fields. Furthermore, if you log in using different capitalization than is your usual wont, your posts will reflect your normal capitalization (i.e., how you registered), but any threads started in that time will bear the capitalization you used on login.
