High Denomination Zimbabwean Notes

Where can I get some, or maybe just one of those recently released Zimbabwean notes? My local coin dealer in St. Louis, Scotsman Coin & Currency, doesn’t have any. They don’t plan to either. :smack:

I’d just like to have a few as conversation pieces. I’ve never done eBay, so that’s not an option.

Paging samclem!

Google is your friend. Seems a few options are there:

Most of those, and I’d done a Google search before posting, appear to be eBay. Don’t have an eBay account and not sure I want one. However I would be willing to buy from a doper who does have an account on eBay. Looking for one, or more, of the higher denominations.

Be aware that the folks who are buying 100 billion dollar notes from Zimbabwe are probably paying about a dollar or so for each note. I was in Zambia late last year and that was the rate you could get if you bargained really hard.

And signing up for eBay is very simple and straight-forward. In fact, it would be much easier to sign up for eBay and pay by Pay Pal rather than have someone else be your go-between.

Maybe I’ll have to do that. I’ve always heard of problems with eBay, and they have a record of being anti firearms as well. I’ll consider it though.

Thanks.

Er, why the heck should that matter if you’re buying banknotes?

I prefer to do business with folks who don’t discriminate in any fashion. If an item is legal for sale, such as magazines and parts, I don’t see why they should not allow these types of items. It is true that I’ve not necessarily kept up to date, so perhaps their policy has changed.

If you were a member of a particular affinity group, would you not prefer to do business with those who respected that? Not trying to start a debate, just explaining why I’ve not dealt with eBay.

Unless eBay’s “no firearms” policy is because eBay is against firearms (whatever that could possibly mean), I don’t see the justification in your objection.

I’d hazard a guess the policy exists because it’s far easier to ban the sale of firearms-related equipment than walk the legal minefield of selling it, but I stand to be corrected.
