High-end online tights/fishnets/pantyhose?

In a recent rerun of Law & Order: SVU or Criminal Intent, a source for very expensive tights, pantyhose, fishnets came up. I think a model was the victim or something? (When you watch too many of these, they all run together.)

The source-- and I’m not sure if it was the manufacturer or distributor-- had a one-word name that was well-known to the detective (was it Bobby Goren or Mike Logan… I can’t remember). I gathered it was a label favored by models and high-priced call girls?

Anyway, I went to the site, and the products were gorgeous and OUT OF SIGHT expensive. Like hundreds of dollars for a pair of tights (as I recall). There were all kinds of stockings, pantyhose, tights shown off in classy, stylish photos of women just from the waist down, in black and white. There might have been some other lingerie items, too, but it was mostly hosiery. Some with artful seams, designs, some thigh highs.

Does anyone know what I’m talking about? I didn’t bookmark the page, and I’d like to find the site again. I’ve been googling all over the place and haven’t been able to locate it.

After looking at a zillion pictures of fishnet clad legs, thiscomes closest to what I remember.

I thought the brand name was a lot sexier-sounding than “Wolford,” (no offense to anyone named Wolford).

And, obviously I was way off on the prices, although these prices are way too much than I would ever spend. I guess I wouldn’t object to my Sugar Daddy buying them for me.

I have no connection to the show, but La Perla is our go-to shop for frillies (eek TMI).

Price point satisfies, the photography is b&w, and the name is alluring. Even if it’s not what you thought, you’ll have fun shopping!

Bloomies and Nordstroms sells Wolford, and they are worth the price. They’re nice quality.

What makes a bra worth $600-$800+ dollars? Just curious.

Moved from General Questions to Cafe Society.

No big deal. I thought they might have more insight.

I was speaking primarily for the tights, but the same would apply to nearly any clothes you spend more money on. They last longer, are better quality to begin with, and generally are more flattering. I have a $20 H&M jacket that I like, but I don’t expect to be wearing it for years like my $300+ Theory jacket.

It does depend, some pricey items are a genuine rip off but for the most part the above applies.

If you browsed it before, it should be in your browser history. On Firefox, hit CTRL-H to bring it up and you can search it by keyword or date.

Coming from a guy with a lifelong tights/hose/stockings fetish I can say I love my wife in Wolfords but they are WAY expensive.

This site has a lot of pricey but fun stuff on it too http://www.stockingirl.com/

Check out Fogal.

I used to frequently walk past one of their shops and think, “working in that place is a job I would love to have.”

The first thing I did was search my history, but I must have visited the site prior to the last time I erased the history a couple of months ago.

As I remember, the name of the site was just one word, and I don’t think that word was “Wolford,” but the pictures on the Wolford site are like what I remember.

Part of this quest is about hosiery, and part is about memory. I guess I’ll have to keep watching L&O reruns until that episode comes up again. (But was it Bobby or Mike who knew the label?)

The one time I chose to splurge on Wolfords I couldn’t believe how good they felt, they just melt on your skin. One forum I frequent called them the “Rolls Royce of pantyhose”, and it’s true! Of course they developed a toe hole on the third wearing:mad: Back to my usual Donna Karan pantyhose.
