High School Reunions: Most Changed Thing About You?

I just had my five year reunion the day after Thanksgiving. It was a hell of a ride. It’s amazing what can happen in those five years. People were married, some had kids, and two classmates had passed away :frowning:

My husband had his 20th this weekend. I did not go with him, I would have been bored out of my mind.

My 15th will be next year and I am actually excited to go. I keep in touch with some people, but I am anxious to see others.

I am definitely more confident and have better self-esteem than I did in HS.

Everyone told me I hadn’t changed a bit. I was always outgoing, I only gained 10 lbs by my 30th reunion, etc. I hope my 35th this summer is just as much fun. I really need to lose the weight, though.

I never realized November was reunion month but I guess it makes sense with people going home for the holidays. I just went to mine last week and like a few other people mentioned, I just felt more confident and social. I suppose there’s a thrill in not peeking too soon

I just went to my 20th. I have more (facial) hair and and am a lot more outgoing than I used to be. People tell me I look the same. A lot of them sure didn’t. But overall we were a good looking bunch.

We had our 40th three years ago. Most people’s personalities don’t change, although some had. Other than less hair, bigger guts, wrinkles, etc., changes were not all that apparent. Some people I flat out didn’t recognize because of aging badly. Others were eerily unchanged.

As for me, I’m over 100 pounds heavier than in high school. I was part of the nameless rabble back then, and was largely forgotten by most people after 40 years. I was shy around women then and a wimp. I’ve gotten over the shyness, and I haven’t taken any shit from anybody in a very long time.
