Help. I have a new computer and am having to reestablish all of my logins and such. I know there is a problem with SDMB where you can’t highlight text until you change something in your settings, but I can’t remember what it is. Can somebody enlighten me? Thanks.
You can’t highlight text if you are using that weird sultantheme. You can change it temporarily using the dropdown at the bottom of a given thread or permanently somewhere in your CP.
Forum skin. Scroll to the bottom on the left. You want Straight Dope 3.7.3
Down at the bottom of your screen, change from sultanstheme to the other style.

I finally got irked enough to come into this part of the board to figure this out. This was the only website where I couldn’t highlight with the mouse. Thanks for the quick fix. What the heck is the point of the other format/skin/whatever?
I understand that being mobile friendly ups the Google rankings.
Which is odd, because that sultantheme is buggy as heck on my phone… I switched to the other on and have way fewer problems.
A small effort to have some pretension to the mobile friendliness by having a skin that is supposed to be mobile friendly. Do not worry, in approximately 6 years they will develop the courage to fix the obviously broken and badly coded skin.
