Hilarious news blooper this morning (Probably Safe For Work)

“Blooper” is not the right word to describe this story.

I was watching the TV with the sound off and saw the story about the Harley recall, so I backed up the live feed with the DVR and watched it over with a little sound. Then the Amazon thing came on, and I knew my wife would be interested (she does Amazon stuff) and then the moment came! So, I backed it up again (I have a DishTV DVR) and popped a DVD-RW into the DVD recorder and hit record and played it over. It took my wife and 13 year old to get it to YouTube. (Wife wanted to share it with the Amazon message board she haunts)

Yeah, it was me.

Now, how it got from the DVD-RW to YouTube, I don’t have a clue. My wife tried it herself, and failed. Then she got the kid involved and somehow they made it happen. I have no clue. Something about converting files and blah blah blah. Damn Kids!

They went to Grandma’s. I’ll ask when they get back.

Um…I may or may not have gotten this as the current top hit on Reddit.

I LOLed. Congrats to the OP. That WAS A good one.

Where is my money-check?

Tell you what - we’ll split it 50/50.

Actually, doesn’t YouTube have some sort of option where you can allow them to show ads and you get paid if your video gets above some number of views? You could do that. And then send ME the check!

I’ll get the kid on it. I just hope the guy doesn’t get in trouble. If he isn’t already.

I spent mine on sex toys.

Jeezus, don’t you even listen to your own links ?

The documentary series Reno 911 is starting to make a lot more sense now.

Sometimes a cigar is not just as cigar. IFYKWIM.

While this doesn’t say in the description that it can be used with a cable box, it can be.

That’s if you’ve got a DVR service as part of your cable plan. If instead we’re talking about a DVR device that’s sitting in your living room, the data is already there, you just need to convince it to give it to you. And the company that made that device doesn’t have a strong incentive to secure it like the cable company does (possibly a nominal bit of security for the sake of an agreement made with the cable company, but no more).

Not only is that not a blooper but he’s 100% right. That’s a huge part of Amazon’s business, and last I checked, not part of Walmart’s. No reason not to acknowledge it.

Thanks for coming back to explain. That was the link I couldn’t figure out. So you have a DVD recorder capturing output from your DVR/cable box. I don’t have that intermediate rig.

That part I know how to do.

I see you’re over a million views now.

You’re welcome slash sorry, whichever is more appropriate.

Yeah, it appears to have gone “viral”. Wife says its on HuffPo and Time and News 2 has had to come out with a statement. Crazy.

Sighhhhhh.

I used to know that poster before he got famous and bitchy…

If that video couldn’t go viral Ebola can’t.

John Potter is gonna find my ass and give me a beat-down!

I owe you a beer or three.

I’ve probably watched that damn thing 30 times. The more I watch it, the more perfect it is. You start looking at the various details and stuff and it just gets better.

It’s one of those "they put it in the movie script and it was rejected because that’s just not believable " sorta things.

PS. I hope the anchor man got nothing more than a stern lecture because, hey, everybody fucks up now and then.
