Hillary: If the election had been held 12 days earlier, I'd be POTUS

I don’t know if Hillary could bring off a campaign the way Bill did. He was the schmoozer/charming rogue; she was the policy wonk with Resting Bitch Face.

The idea back in 1992 was Bill would get elected and then Hillary the co-President would do Hillarycare. That kind of blew up in their faces, and afterwards Hillary was relegated to the back office while Bill triangulated his way into a second term. Then they made the mistake of spending some years building up her resume - Senator for domestic policy, SecState for foreign - and then she was going to become President in her own right. She didn’t need her resume built up - in 2008 and 2016 she lost to someone with a much less impressive resume. In 2008, someone with a half term as Senator, and in 2016, someone with a reality show.

They should have spent the time teaching her how to fake sincerity, and that’s a lot harder.

The reason she lost the election is that she never figured out the answer to this.

Heh. I never really thought about it, but: just imagine Bill Clinton delivering that “fifty points ahead” line. Like, he’s grinning – and it’s definitely a smile that reaches the eyes – and he chuckles amiably while asking, right? And he probably sounds cheerful and upbeat, and relaxed and confident: gesturing with some enthusiasm while speaking off-the-cuff and radiating a healthy amount of warm positivity?

Okay, now imagine him saying it without doing all of that.

I honestly can’t!

Hillary lost because she was a bad candidate who did a poor job campaigning. She failed to listen to either Bill or Obama who had their own ideas on how to win.

The democrats wanted Sanders. Its come out now that even Jimmy Carter snubbed her by voting Sanders. But it was Hillarys turn and thats all their was to it.

Oh, the dems also wanted Joe Biden but she kept him away also.

No, “the Democrats” wanted Hillary. They got increasingly enamored of Bernie, but she won. She was the choice of the party. And Hillary didn’t keep Biden out. He should have filed early on, but he probably thought he didn’t stand a chance against her. It was the overwhelming sense that the Democrats were crowning Hillary queen that kept him out, and then his son died. Nothing to do with Hillary, herself.

The Democratic base wanted someone other than Hillary, but this unsubstantiated notion that Bernie Sanders was going to have broad appeal is probably fictitious, and while he was a more appealing candidate to some he would have made a terrible president, possibly even as bad in his own way as Trump has shown himself to be.

Biden had eight years up close and intimately invovled in the office of the President–possibly the most involved Vice President since Mondale–and saw Obama getting slapped left and right like a cat toy, not even being allowed to follow through on promises like closing the Guantanamo Bay detention camp. I think he saw a Republican majority coming and decided that being an elder statesman was a better plan than being a punching bag for four years.

While I hate to say that there is anything good about a Trump presidency, the fact is if Clinton had won we’d be in complete gridlock and she’d be held largely accountable while constantly trying to spin accusations of scandal, both real and manufactured. Now that Trump is in the White House–on the few days a week he bothers to spend there instead of at his resort–and the GOP has a majority in both houses of Congress, their collective hypocrisy is on full display, and their inability to get things done is impeded only by their own greed and incompetence, which dwarfs the DNC in playing to an entitled candidate who sucked up to banking interests and enriched herself through their family foundation. So, in a sense, good for her in being such a shit-ass candidate that she lost to the bipedal circus peanut with a dust mop stuck to his head.

I was unaware that Russia was running for President of France.

News Flash:
A conservative makes uncomplimentary remarks about Hillary. And gives us the inside scoop on the Democratic Party. They better take notes…

There seems to be a concerted effort by some to bring Comey down at the moment. I don’t know who’s behind it but I could make a guess, and some of the press are being co-opted too.

Take this story from the Washington Post. It alleges that Comey as good as lied to Congress last week (misstated or overstated are the euphemisms used.) Their ‘evidence’ for this follows:

And what are these gross inaccuracies which apparently misled Congress? Yes, Abedin did forward classified emails to her husband. But it was only ‘a few’ and not ‘regular’. This is BS quibbling. She did send classified emails and she did it more than a few times. I think Congress got the picture without having to define ‘regular’.

Another feeble attempt to smear Comey follows.

Right, lock the guy up, throw away the key. The lesson here is that if you piss off a Clinton (or maybe that should be a Borgia) you can be certain that their friends in the government and press will be let loose on you. If I were Comey I wouldn’t be accepting any dinner invitations from the Clintons in the near future!

You don’t have a problem using the word “lying” when it was not the actual story, and then you pooh pooh the story for being inaccurate? In that they didn’t say what you said they really meant? They can’t read your mind you know.

There were dozens, not hundreds of thousands as the breitboys were crowing about at the time. They were not marked classified until later after the event, and they were automatically transferred, not intentionally.

Slow down. It’s going to be a rough patch until your boy is impeached.
