Money. I would gladly let someone write a book on my behalf for 8 million up front.
Call her whatever you will, she still has to eat.

VERY AMATEURISH HIJACK.
As for the timing of the book. It’s 567 pages or so, so it took some time to write. As for the placement, I think the timing is perfect to sell books. It’s after the war so people looking for something different are no longer distracted by the hear and now, and it’s close enough to the election so people interested in what a Democratic Presidency is like can get an inside look.
Good timing to sell the book.
Personally, I don’t like Hillary or agree with her often, but I have my copy purchased during lunch today, and I intend to read it. I just finished Dereliction of Duty which seemed to have a major axe to grind despite counterclaims, and I look forward to reading Hillary’s book as well. Hopefully some of the same incidents will be described. I also read Ann Coulter and other political and autobiographical works including Pat Buchanan’s Right from the Beginning which is damn good and describes an interesting guy before he went off the political deep end.
I’ve also read It Takes a Village which I found to be atrociously condescending, and Earth in the Balance which was insipid.
I have high hopes for this book, and a quick perusal suggests it will be of a different vein, and give us an inside look at Hillary describing herself, her husband and the history of their time in the White House, accomplishments and failures. It appears to be pretty candid and empty of propaganda unlike the two pieces I just referred to.
Should be an interesting read.
I find it interesting that Sen. Clinton claims President Clinton told her early one morning about (3) days before his affair w/ Monica went to press. She said she could’ve wrung Pres. Clinton neck. She just couldn’t believe that he could do this to her and all the people who supported him.
I believe she certainly could’ve wrung his neck but not for the reason stated. I think she could’ve wrung his neck because he allowed this to happen when he was in a very public “glass house.” Surely, she got him to agree NOT to pursue any extramarital affairs after the fiasco w/ Jennifer Flowers and Paula Jones.
She didn’t know her man…lets his third leg do the thinking.
That’s exactly what you are supposed to think. This is not just Hillary’s move, it is a masterstroke by the Democratic Party. HRC is the perfect lightning rod to attract the fulminations of the Right Wing while the Democratic party selects its nominee during the primary season. The Repugnicans cannot resist attacking a Clinton, any Clinton in the spotlight. They are attracted to them like moths to a flame. HRC is working in concert with the Democratic Party to create a diversion that will confuse the opposition and give the party time to build the strength to knock the stuffing out of Bush in November '04. I wouldn’t be surprised to see HRC flirt with running in 2004 (denying it all the time) just to keep the Repugnicans off-balance.
HRC is above all a loyal Democrat. To suggest she would do anything to damage the party is self-delusion.
This morning on ABC radio one of the commentators was talking to a former Clinton adviser (sorry I didn’t catch his name) who espoused exactly the same views as the OP. He said that the Clintons would do whatever they could to ensure a Bush victory so that Hillary could run for an open White House in 2008. He said this would be Bill’s third term. He thinks that apart from disrupting other Democrat hopefuls, Hillary wants to get her “plainly untrue” account of when she found out accepted as history. He stated that she is absolutely ruthless and will do anything necessary to get what she wants. What kept the Clintons together he said was what they had in common Hillary loved Bill and so did Bill.
A quick google reveals that the speaker was Dick Morris as revealed by this account.
While Morris may be correct on this one, keep in mind that he, too, will do whatever it takes to keep his mug on TV. He is his own biggest promoter. Don’t be fooled by his air of confidence. He’s very good at sounding like he knows what he’s talking about (whether or not he actually does).
