Hillary's tweet about Chris Christie

Oops- you mistyped Democratic party as Democrat party once again. You might want to watch out for that. Someone might think you don’t know better.

Mea culpa. Mea maxima culpa. I am abashed. I just came from The Pit and forgot my self. I prostrate myself in front of the Dope and proclaim my sins publically, begging forgiveness.

I don’t think Christie ever missed a roll in his life.

The bridge closing scandal (I refuse to use the -gate syntax) has yet to fully play out. The prosecutor is being slow and methodical. I would not rule out a Christie indictment in the future.

A zinger is a zinger, regardless of who delivers it.

I see what you did there. Well played.

So, conservatives who’ve comment in this thread, Trump has absolutely no ethically questionable events in the past, and neither he nor Christie have ever criticized Clinton on ethics grounds? Because if he has, and if they have, then really there’s no moral high ground to be had. It’s like saying the United States has no moral ground to condemn human rights abuses in other countries.

So Hillary is going to sell us a bridge?

I guess not.

Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi…

This is the song that never ends. It just goes on an on again. Some people, started singing it, not knowing what it was, and they’ll…
God, I miss Sherry Lewis.

Most people balk at the idea that Christie would have let people do that without being involved himself. It’s just not the way he does things.

There isn’t an equivalent for Clinton–or, if there was, no one talks about it. Her big scandals are Benghazi and the email thing. Neither involve blaming an underling, and they aren’t really ethics violations.

Benghazi isn’t related to ethics at all–no one was trying to blame a conspiracy. And while some might call classification itself an ethical issue, most people require intent. She wasn’t sharing secrets or anything. She just may have not been as careful with something as she should have been. If it’s an ethical violation, it’s one that people slip up and do all the time.

The bridge thing was malicious in intent. That is what made it a bigger deal back when Christie was running. Now it’s still a problem, but probably not one that anyone will really care about, except maybe people in New Jersey when they need to vote for governor again.

I say the comment mostly just Hillary doing a more classy version of what Donald does. And, in the past at least, that used to go a lot better. A few bon mots establish that you are tough. Doing it all the time would make you seem weak.

Oh, FFS. This is the Clinton campaign saying “Come! See the conservative hypocrisy!” It’s a Both Sides Do It dismissal of Christie. Although it’s somewhat more hip in its presentation than is usual for when the other side does this.

I’d think the conservative cavalcade here on the SDMB would recognize this, since it’s literally the only trick they’ve bothered to teach their tired old pony.

OK, By the Numbers. First, what is Gross about Anything I posted?

Bad campaign decision, a PR miscue. It happens. Like plagiarism & backing out of NATO.

This is possibly the nicest and most honest and helpful reply she could have given, and if Trumps team ever wanted to win, they should have changed the password on that account on him a Long time ago.
He does better smiling or looking frumpy than he ever does whenever he opens his mouth. Honestly if you stuffed a gag in Trumps mouth, you’d be doing him a favor.

I saw that movie… with Steven Seagal? Hitmen walk down the middle of a city street, shoot people, shoot at people, and expect nothing to happen? AmIRight?

Clinton did not tell Trump to delete his Twitter account. Elizabeth Warren did.

LOL! I wish this wasn’t true ! I really would love to write in
‘none of the about!’ We have 2 candidates acting like school kids . :smack:

Yes, but one of them is in graduate school, while the other has been held back in kindergarten 3 years running for failing to work and play well with others, cheating at coloring and outsourcing his naptime. Not to mention pooping his pants every other hour.

No, it was Hillary - https://twitter.com/HillaryClinton/status/740973710593654784?ref_src=twsrc^tfw

Elizabeth Warren also did so later - x.com

Hilary (and her staff) have publicly stated that Hilary does not personally send out every tweet that appears under her account. They have also said that when one IS directly from her it will be signed with “-H” at the end. So the tweet “Delete your account” came from whoever the internet/twitter savvy person is running that part of her social media.

Now, in the big picture, that doesn’t matter, because Hilary understands that she will “own” anything that comes out of that account. So, in this case, I have to say…so what?

Delete your account is just a shorthand twitter insult implying that your tweet(s) are so worthless you would be better off closing your account down. It’s used a lot. Not sure why it is getting so much attention here. It is certainly not cringe-worthy.

What it points out is that Hilary has someone twitter-savvy, who I don’t believe has done anything to embarrass the candidate, running her twitter account. The Trump team has some fly off the handle nitwit who tweets the first thought that hits his head. They should fire that guy. Oh wait…

I knew and considered either bridge, but either bridge made me chuckle. Anything to get Chris Christie to STFU.
