His first girlfriend at age five?

Today at my family Christmas party my son announced that he had a girlfriend at his preschool. Her name is Carly. My sister had asked him how school was going, and then teased him with the standard, “do you have a girlfriend yet” questions. So he was prompted a bit. But the reason he knew she was his girlfriend is what got us all laughing.

This is exactly what he said,

“She tells me to get her boots, so I do it!”.

My hubby was like dammit, maybe I am waiting on CAT to much!

It’s the new glasses. He’s hot stuff now.

Aw.

I had my first boyfriend at the tender age of 5. A spunky red-haired little kid.
My mom told me to try to make some friends in school, so I asked this boy if he wanted to be friends. Apparently he took that as something different! I don’t remember much of it except for thinking “Wha? This boy is weird”, lots of secret kisses (tee hee), and playing ker-plunk at his house.
He broke up with me in the first grade. :frowning:
He tried to steal my pogs in the fourth grade.

I had my first boyfriend at five, too, and he was read-headed also. We kissed, before storytime. The teacher had to tell us not to.

Yikes! All the kissing at five never even crossed my mind. I hope he just continues to take orders from her for now.
And maybe asks her to get his boots one day too.

At 5 years old, I was already traumatized by girls. One of my first memories was having a cute girl with a shock of bright red hair run up to me one day in kindergarten. She asked me what my name was, so I told her. Then she said, “That’s a stupid name!”, stuck her tongue out, and ran away. Ever since then I’ve been simultaneously fascinated and nervous around women, especially redheads.

My grandson, now 8, was chatting up little girls at 18 months! At the grocery stores, he’d get out of his little car/cart and actually lean on his arm on the cute little girls’ car/cart window, flirting with them with that sweet baby talk! First time I saw him do that I was amazed! And I wished I had a camera - he was so cute - so the young Fonzie! Nothing awkward about that kid as far as girls go. His favorite restaurant has always been Hooters, too.

I had my first boyfriend in kindergarten. We’d play and run and hold hands. I don’t remember any kissing, but it was a long time ago.

My sister got married in first grade. She didn’t really want to, but he liked her, so her friends made her marry him during recess.

It didn’t last.

My first gf was at 3. She’s come over to our house, I’d go in and get two cookies and give her one, and she’d sit next to me on the porch steps and I’d put my arm around her shoulders while we ate our cookies. Then we’d go play in the sandbox.

My daughter’s first boyfriend was when she was five as well. So was mine, now that I think about it.

And reading this, I laughed remembering a 4th of July when my daughter was 10. She was with some friends at the local park for the festivities, and when I went to pick her up, she was barefoot. She’d left her shoes across the park, so Charlie ran to get them for her. And then he carried them *and her *home (piggy-back), because she had blisters.

That’s my girl!

I had a boyfriend in kindergarten, when we were both five or six. We had a little wedding on the playground and all that.

My brother liked a little girl in his kindergarten class. When asked what made him like her, he said, “She always follows the instructions.” That’s my little OCD sibling!

What’s a pog?

My nephew had 4 girlfriends in kindergarten. The first because she told him so & the other 3 because she didn’t want to be the only one of her friends with a boyfriend, so he was theirs too.

Pogs.

My son had his first girlfriend at age 5 as well. His teacher was worried about him one day, because he was standing up by the building by himself during recess. She was walking up towards him to see what was wrong when she saw this little girl come out. He had walked her to the bathroom, waited for her, then walked her back to the playground.

His second girlfriend came at age 6. According to him, she’s been his girlfriend ever since. One day on the playground, she came up to him and said, “You’re gonna be my boyfriend.” His response: “Okay.” And that was it.

Oh. Thanks.

(I seriously thought it was a type of shoe.)

I had my first girlfriend at negative four months. Sure, my little baby appendages had just developed, but I was determined to find me a woman. I figured an older woman would be best; they’re more developed, ya know? So I started doing things inside the womb. I made sure my mother was really comfortable when I could hear post-fetus children playing in a park. I’d curl up into a little ball, but once it was clear we weren’t going to the park, I’d start stretching and kicking. Soon, my mom started taking me to the park and sitting by other pregnant mothers. It was a bit difficult to determine if the other kids were male or female, since they were inside their mamma’s bellies, too. So I just got to know them all for who they were on the inside (no pun intended) I finally hit it off with a negative one month old. We were born, grew up in the same neighborhood, and went to the same high school. Unfortunately, she wanted to be a doctor, and I wanted to be an engineer. The best schools in our respective fields are 1,485 miles apart, so I haven’t seen her in months, but I’m certain we’re going to end up together again. Someday… sigh.
