Corporations have faith now? I guess since they’re considered people… but couldn’t Hobby Lobby just tell their faithful employees not to take the morning after pill and then thusly they don’t have to pay for it? (Rhetorical, as I know the answer.)

Yes it can, Mr. Ardent Christian! Been proven in court many many times. The goverment may make reasonable accomodations, and the court may decide to grant more, but at the bottom line, the Rule of Law is superior to anyone’s personal beliefs.

What knocks me out is the boss doesn’t want to be funding abortions. But his employees presumably are paid in US currency which they can use for whatever they want, including abortions, IUDs, borning after pills and ritual infanticide. I call bullshit–he just doesn’t want to pay for health insurance for his employees because he’s a greedy SOB, and he’s using BC as an excuse.

Well, it could be as simple as the guy just wanting to say “Fuck You” to Obama. Perhaps he wants this to go to court as the test case on Obamacare, hoping to have it declared unconstitutional in the SCOTUS. A long shot that I think he’d lose, but hey, maybe he thinks he’d win.

I love how they use inflammatory language like “abortion-inducing drugs.” Pro tip: even the morning after pill isn’t an “abortion-inducing drug” guys.

My sister used to work for Hobby Lobby, and she left because they have a glass ceiling.

Thank you for sharing this story. I had no idea Hobby Lobby was founded by and still adheres to nutjob ideals. I can’t wait for the gubmit to give them the smackdown.
