That makes it sound like everyone in the courtroom was happy to hear the verdict. I’m fairly confident that that wasn’t the case.
I’m with you, @Chronos . I’m pretty sure that not everybody in the courtroom was happy.
But, this is Canada, hockey is our national religion, and hockey players are revered as gods.
A bit of sarcasm there, but I’d suggest that there is an element of truth to it. There are some people who feel that hockey players can do no wrong. I’m not saying the judge is one such, but the sigh of relief given off by the media (all media, not just the cited source) in this matter, has surprised me.
