Caps get rid of the useless Reirden Capitals Relieve Todd Reirden of Coaching Duties | NHL.com
[Nelson] Ha ha! [/Nelson]
Embarrassing thrashing of the Canucks last night from LVK. Not sure how much hangover from the previous series with St. Louis there might have been (not really an excuse, perhaps), but Van. looked listless a lot of the time; couldn’t get much goin.
I am starting to believe in the Stars. Another impressive comeback win last night. The Avs have had zero secondary scoring so far in the two games.
My two teams are are off to a sucky start, with Philly getting tromped 5-1 by Las Vegas.
I was supposed to be seeing a Van./Philly final.
Philly got smoked by the Islanders. That game could have been even worse if not for some acrobatics by the goalie.
Even if the Isles get past Philly, how do they get past either then Bruins or Lightning? It seems like an impossible task for a team like the Isles who, let’s face it, are missing big-name talent.
::headsmack:: Dang-it, I meant Vancouver, not Philly ::headsmack::
Actually, I could see NY’s tight D (and the way Varlamov’s been standing on his head) giving either the Bruins or the Bolts a tough go.
Well, fingers crossed!
I do think that the tough Islanders D can make great teams look not-as-great and start to get frustrated. And, the Isles have the best coach left in the playoffs, in my opinion – their ability to come back after some terrible performances (either in a period or in a game) must be down to the coach.
(awesome - got to this thread before accidentally finding out today’s score between Philly and NYI, which I’m about to check out on pvr)
Nice to see the Canucks pick it up a few notches for last night’s game, surprising the Knights 5-2. Can’t find the stat on how much LV totally outshot Van., but one awesome I did see was Van. blocking 40 shots, a play-off record, and one shy of the all-time regular season record. That kinda heart gives me goosebumps.
Cool seeing Toffoli, coming back from 10 games off from an ankle sprain, steps onto the ice, and nine seconds later, scores.
One of the few Stanley Cup winners on that team - hope he stays healthy.
I think Boston is the better team, but wow, that was an epic beat down.
Yeah, I was on the side of “Ehh, Rask feels like he’s not safe, he should go home”. Then that happened. I still think he should go home if he feels he should, and let the lawyers work out the rest. But ouch, that was a pasting.
Flyers almost let one slip away after giving up an early 3-0 lead to win in OT over NYI (yay I think I got the teams right for once
) to tie that series up. Too bad Barzal’s in the east - I don’t get many chances to see him. Absolutely remarkable player - the Islanders woud be foolish if they ever parted ways with him.
I think Barzal becomes an restricted free agent after this season. I can’t imagine they’ll let him go.
Nice comeback for the Islanders. Too bad about the OT loss, but overall a good game after the first period. Just relentless.
I didn’t watch the Bruins/Bolts – was it as bad as the score?
I don’t recall ever seeing them fold like a cheap like that before.
Surprised if I see that happen again.
Sure, they were playing a strong team, but still, wow.
Bruins/Bolts was about as bad of playoff hockey I can remember seeing in recent years. I’m used to an occasional stinker in a baseball playoff series but then you’re worried about conserving pitchers when a game gets out of hand.
I’m sure the Bruins really wish they had the Rask/Halak combo.
NHL postpones play till Saturday.
Yeah, pretty cool by them. Hockey seems like one of the more progressive leagues these days.
Tell that to Coutour on the Sharks.
Ha! Well, he kind of proves my point, I guess.
Ok, back to hockey and we get triple headers. Obviously, I can’t wait to see how the Bruins respond this morning. Professionals have to put the previous game behind them.
