Hollerin Herb's Psychopath Chevrolet!

I heard that the old “NATIONAL LAMPOON” stories are about tobe reprinted! I used to love these little stories of American life…particularly the High Scholl Yearbook!
Anyway, anyone know who owns thw rights to this stuff? And, WHERE was Dacron, Ohio?

Ah, Hollerin’ Herb Weisenheimer! (smok! smok!)

I loved that yearbook parody. I’ve still got my original copy, and my copy of the Sunday Dacron Democrat-Republican!

Ursula “Wobbles” Watursky, the gal with crutches. Amana “Fridge” Pepperidge, the ice queen (made famous in Animal House). Madison Avenue “Zippy” Jones, the token black.

I’d suspect NatLampCo owns the rights.

I should reread my issue of the Sunday Paper parody, but I don’t have the time (you need to read everything to get the jokes, like the reason why Larry Kroger attempts suicide).

I also have the Yearbook, and may be able to dig up the election issue of the Lampoon set in Dacron.

I love the old National Lampoon magazines. Granted, they’re a tad older than I am, but when I see some for sale I try to snatch 'em up.

Ah, the memories of my dad’s old NatLamp stash. The Vietnamese Baby Book, First Blowjob, the adventures of Bernie X, and of course the Letters From The Editor.

One question, though: Who is/was David Frost, and why did they always call him an asshole in the Letters From The Editor?

Because he was, evidently. Monty Python also savaged him*.

Frost was best known as an interviewer/talk show host, with a particularly unctuous style, sort of a male Barbara Walters – though worse.

*In a skit about Timmy, an unctuous celebrity (played by Eric Idle). A friend (Terry Jones) comes to him desperately asking for help, but Timmy keeps getting interrupted by all the fabulous projects he’s involved in.
