There was a TV news clip a few minutes ago of Senator Lott’s controversial sound bite at Senator Strom Thurmond’s 100th Birthday party. Strom Thurmond is like a corpse in a wheelchair. :eek: :eek: :eek: and one more for good measure :eek:! My God it’s simply unbelievable!

What the hell are the people of South Carolina thinking? What the hell is Strom Thurmond thinking? He’s like Gollum’s grandfather. Power must be the most addictive drug on this planet to be so difficult to give up with any grace.

I remember a few years ago, Strom collapsed and was rushed to the hospital. Everyone was so certain that he was gonna kick the bucket that one of the local TV stations here ran a “Memorial” clip show of his life during the evening news!

I did live here when he was last up for election, and I didn’t vote for him. It would seem I was outnumbered.

There was a piece in the paper about him a day or two before his 100th bithday.

I didn’t think this funny, simply odd sounding. It stated he was a resident of some hospital, like that was his home town.
