Holy Crap!!

Check out this dude’s ride down this amazing hill!

http://www.gamaniak.com/video/3625

Who is this guy? Where is Grimselpass? Germany? Austria? His body is covered with wheels! Dude’s passing motorcycles and stuff!

That must be a helluva rush…and a lot of vibration all over your body!

Edit: the video is long-ish, but the end is the best part…the tunnel, passing motor-powered vehicles, etc.

That is pretty damn amazing. Crazy ass road too.

Switzerland

I wonder what goes through the minds of those people he actually passes lol.

That’s awesome!

Me watching::eek::eek::eek::D:D:eek::eek::eek::D:D:D:eek::eek::cool:

Holy Crap is right!

That person has to be in excellent shape to do that.

Did you notice how close the camera came to the motorcycle he passed? They must be a small vehicle to do that, but there’s no leaning or pitching, like you’d expect if the camera was mounted on a bike. I wonder what the chase vehicle is?

I couldn’t enjoy a ride like that because I’d constantly be worried I’d end up off a cliff or under someone’s car. Eek!

It might be gimbal mounted to always stay upright.

This appears to be the start of the road. Note the lakes, the dam partway down, and later (scroll upward) the tunnel.

Who is this guy and who designed his suit made of wheels?

He has that wheeled board on his back as well…I kept expecting him to flip over onto his back and do a little trick or something. The steepness of that hill is pretty crazy…I also wonder what kinds of speeds he was achieving, seeing as how he kept passing motorbikes!

Damn, link doesn’t work for me. I mean, it opens a page, but it is a blank page. Any ideas?

Update your Flash player, are you running adblockers/script blockers?

You can download the video directly from here (MP4) and play it locally. This seems to be the guy. Articles seem to indicate speeds up to 60-70 mph.

Damn. I was wondering three things as I watched that: (1) what type of vehicle is following him, (2) does he have a way to brake and (3) how much did he hurt himself in figuring out where to put the wheels and how to control that thing.

A website used by some cyclists, MapMyRide.com, has a copy of this route. There’s a “Show Elevation” tick box on the right. To my eye, it looks like an 8-10% grade down most of that. He has almost no wind resistance, being on the ground like that, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he was going 60 mph (or more) down parts of that hill.

After the edit: I see that Omphaloskeptic put up some speed info before me.

That looks like a lot of fun. As soon as I become an eccentric billionaire (I’m halfway there  ) I am going to do that when I feel like dying, because as soon as I get to that first turn I’m going to go straight through that guard rail, I just know it. If there is a better way to go I haven’t seen it.

Wow. Agree with the Bee-man. That would be a hella way to go.
