Holy S%&*, Just got a Diablo III beta invite! Whaaaa?

Man, I signed up for the beta drawing like months ago. Figured I missed it.

But then today, in my email, just a couple of hours ago:

Congratulations! You’ve been selected to participate in the Diablo III beta test.

downloading now, it’s like 4 gb. Might not get to it tonight since it’s a work night. But I’m grinning from ear to ear. This…pleases me.

If you signed up earlier, check your inbox tonight. I guess they sent out another round? Or something?

I can’t wait to play this thing, I spent hundreds of hours in DII.

It’s cool, but just the first story arc - about equivalent to say Act 1 through Blood Raven in D2, maybe. All of the classes are playable, and you can re-play with the monsters leveling up (at least a bit, hard to tell since you can’t see levels).

I have not tried multiplayer much - we should see if we can get an SDMB multiplayer session going.

Oh, and there’s a patch today, with a bunch of changes to underlying systems. All looks pretty good.

The gf and I woke up to invite emails as well. I suspect they did a huge mass invite.

Yep, I read today that 100,000 DIII beta keys were just sent out

So I guess I’m not that lucky, but I’m still thrilled. I didn’t get a chance to play it last night - damn downloader was slow and it was 4+ gb, so tonight’s the night. Here goes! :smiley:
