Holy shit! That's some plastic surgery.

I hope it doesn’t ruin his career.

It does to me. On the one hand it looks like she slimmed down, which would account for loosing the chipmunk-cheeks along the jawline. However, the squinty look was due to fleshy-ness above and below the eyes. I would say that she definitely got trimmed on the upper eyelid.

Now as to why, as I said somewhere else, age related actress issues aside, is it within the realm of possibility that her fleshy eyelid squinty thing was actually causing her some problems? I have knows people who had similar work done due to that issue - sure, there was probably a cosmetic aspect involved, but the fleshy eyelids were causing them problems with being able to see properly.

So, I’m going to give Renee the benefit of the doubt. And we will all get used to the new look soon enough, once we’ve seen her in a role being her usual charming self.

Now *that *is a tragedy.

Im sure I saw pictures of Renee Zellweger a few years back and she had not aged well. I think even then she had had plastic surgery so im not sure why the story is making the rounds once again (it’s being linked to everywhere). I did read that she was a bit of a casual drug user though I dont know how true this is. This is not meant as a moral judgement on her, just as one possible reason she hasn’t aged well.

I agree it looks like her cheekbones are lower.

I liked her original look.

JK Rowling?

If want to frighten yourself, do an image search on Jackie Stallone, Sly’s mom. Ay caramba!

If so, she should probably sue her plastic surgeon.

That is terrifying! I wonder if the medical board that certifies plastic surgeons ever disqualifies anyone for work like that? I mean, if her face had been completely destroyed in a tragic weed-wacker accident and that was the result of heroic efforts to give her some sort of face, it would be acceptable. If not, that is just plain malpractice.

Renee Zellweiger has my permission to look however she wants to look.

Agreed, she can look however she wants to look. And I hope she’s happy. However, I don’t think it’s out of line or insulting to comment that Renee Zellweger no longer looks like Renee Zellweger.

I’ve seen a lot of posts suggesting this. I don’t think it is physically possible to be slimmer than she was in Chicago, and there was essentially no change from her face between that and the “chubby” Bridget Jones. It looks to me like she did the “South Korean pageant” surgery program…eyelids, cheeks, lips.

He may pull a Jonah Hill and gain it all back in a year.

I feel bad for Zellweger. She was cute because she had a unique face, now she looks like she has had all the unique character taken out of her face.

If she is very happy about her new face, do you still feel bad for her?

She really doesn’t look THAT much different considering the amount of time that has passed between all the before/after photos that are being posted. The only really big difference is that she doesn’t look like she’s squinting all the time and she used to part her hair pretty much in the middle but now on the side and longer. She does look older but meh. Looks like a normal, avg attractiveness middle aged woman now. Nothing wrong with that.

I wondered about the same things with Michael Jackson - at some point, you’d think a responsible professional would say, “Nuh-uh. Not going to cut on your face any more.”

I’d guess that happens, I don’t know. But even if you get turned down by 10 surgeons, you only need 1 to say yes.

I would have just given the camel the damn Coke!

This seems quite possible. If Ms. Zellweger has some Scandinavian ancestry (perhaps Finnish?), that might account for the epicanthic folds that are part of her old, familiar look. And as people with pronounced epicanthic folds age, some find that their vision is negatively affected.

Surgically reducing the size of those folds might have been medically advisable for her.

I agree, she looks like a totally different person. Not a bad looking person…just a different person.
If she likes it, more power to her.
