If you look at pictures of most stars in their 50s or 60s lots of them seem to have had facial work done of some sort. I think it usually looks weird. Are there many notable Hollywood stars who haven’t bothered getting any work done on their face as they age?
Clint Eastwood? I think he might have had some crags surgically added.
Jamie Lee Curtis, I believe. Unless it’s so subtly done you can’t tell.
Kate Winslet, Rachel Weisz and Emma Thompson have actually launched a British Anti-Cosmetic Surgery League, though I’m not sure how much it’s an actual organization and how much just a tongue-in-cheek way of saying that some actresses have taken a stand against having their faces sliced up with scalpels.
I think male actors are much more likely to have foregone cosmetic surgery, but then male actors are much less heavily penalized professionally for the appearance of aging.
Just off the top of my head…I don’t see evidence of any kind of work done on actors like Jack Nicholson, Christopher Walken, Martin Sheen. That’s all I can think of right now.
If Jack Nicholson has had plastic surgery, one wonders what kind of a Christless mess he’d be without it.
Harrison Ford, Gary Oldman, Meryl Streep, and Steve Martin all seem to be unmodified.
Sharon Stone has had work done, but *good *work and just enough: she looks younger than her age, but she has a few lines and can still move her face.
It’s sad that people feel the need to surgically alter themselves, but it’s much sadder how often it winds up being so obvious and creepy looking. I have to wonder how so many crappy surgeons stay in business. I mean, these people have plenty of money, they’re not bargain-hunting, so what exactly happens? Do they look for people who have recently been made to look like poor facsimiles of people, ask who did that to them, and then go to that person? Is that what they’re going for?
Sure this is it. I don’t get how it can wind up looking so bad, so often.
I am reminded of a Julia Roberts quote from perhaps a year or so back. No, I don’t do Botox and such. I want my children to know when I’m mad at them.
I don’t think James Garner has had any work done.
Has Raquel Welch had surgery?
I don’t think she looks bad either way.
Of course, none of them are very old.
Anjelica Huston seems to be aging naturally.
In that Terminator TV series, Linda Hamilton, rather than appearing to have had work done, was just shot out of focus, very noticeably so.
Annette Bening doesn’t appear to have had work done.
What about Meryl Streep? I was going to say George Clooney, but at 50 he only sort of qualifies.
See post #7.
Sorry. I scrolled through the thread too fast.
That wasn’t Linda Hamilton.
Helen Mirren and Judi Dench look pretty natural.
I saw an interview with Holly Hunter in which she said she and Frances McDormand have agreed not to succumb to the pressure to have cosmetic surgery.
Her appearance has become very chiseled but it seems to be the result of exercise. I don’t see the signs of any obvious surgeries.
