Okay, I was poking around the net trying to see if anyone had any tips for modding a trackball. (Appaprently, no one does.) Anyway, I stumbled across a really interesting thread on a message board dedicated to building your own arcade game console. Take a look at this guy’s design! Equally, amazing is the floor in the guy’s garage! You can follow the guy’s progress in this thread (note that its 24 pages!). So far, he’s spent 3 years, and who knows how much money on the project, and its not yet complete (but getting close). (For anyone contemplating doing their own version, you might want to pick up this book.) One of the links in that giant thread goes to a site dedicated to building your own R2-D2. Man, to have the money and time to be able to do that kind of stuff.
