Home remedies for yeast infections?

I am wondering if any of you all know of confirmed methods of ridding one’s self of a yeast infection. I have heard of cranberry juice (taken orally) and yogurt and diluted apple cider vinegar (not taken orally), but have not tested any of them out. What (preferably with cheap materials) methods have you all discovered to combat yeast infections?

I eat yogurt as a preventative measure when taking anti-biotics.
I’ve never heard of what I think you’re indicating as an alternative treatment method, but if you were to get past the ‘eww’ and actually try it, wouldn’t the vinegar kill the active cultures in the yogurt, thereby rendering it useless?

I used to get yeast infections frequently and tried several home remedies–well, the ones that didn’t sound too strange. Nothing, short of a prescription, seemed to cure them and I didn’t have much success in preventing them by daily intake of yogurt and acidophilus tablets. From what I’ve read about yeast infections (online and in the library), the home remedies are usually some sort of supplement and they don’t work very quickly (if they work at all.) The new prescription pill Diflucan is a great treatment–one pill and the infection is gone in a couple of days.

I think cranberry juice is for urinary tract infections - not yeast infections. Why not just take the pill that works?

And while you’re at it, be careful in the future. Tight pants, pantyhose, thongs, and failure to follow the no glove no love rule can all be factors.

Additionally, if you are having this problem often, there might be an underlying health issue.

If you don’t want to wait in line at planned parenthood for Diflucan, go to RiteAid and get some cream.
