Are there any reliable statistics regarding the use of ‘Homer’ at the christening font in the US?
One may be looking at a possible increase in it’s popularity over the last few years.

According the the US Census site for 1990, Homer ranked 321st in male first names. At this site, Homer didn’t show up at all for the top names in 1996 or 1997.
Perfect. Many thanks.
And Krusty?
I just finished listening to an episode of “Suspense” from 1948, with Edward G. Robinson, which was called “The Man Who Wanted To Be Edward G. Robinson.”
Edward G. Robinson’s character is named “Homer J. Hubbard.”
Very strange program, in so many ways.
Are you claiming that Homer may have increased in popularity because of the show The Simpsons? I would offhand guess that it’s decreased in popularity because of that show.
