Honest Question: Why are the republicans so pissed about this health care thing?

it is not the government’s place to provide healthcare or social security.

From whence does this proper ‘place’ for government arise?
Is it a self-evident truth, or is there some logical twisting of our founding documents that generates this uniquely American ‘truth’?
If it’s self-evident, how come none of the other advanced nations can see it?

What is funny is that very recently on the SDMB Sarkozy was mentioned as an example of how the world was turning more conservative.

As even the right winger leaders in Switzerland had to admit 10 years after they also failed to stop health care reform, going back to the way it was before would be inhuman.

They’re pissed that an African-American man and a Woman (2 of a kind that they consider not as intelligent as European Conservative man) would have the gall to lead the United States of America out of the quagmire that has been the Health Care debate, and actually bring it to somewhat of a workable base to start to reform it.

Remember, it wasn’t too long ago that we were saying “Ye Sur, massa.”

The irony of course is that the final bill that passed is a lot like the Republican health care plan they proposed as an alternative to Clinton’s plan back in 1993.
