Honey Smacks cereal and Star Wars

Hello all,

I bought a box of Honey Smacks that had Mace Windu (Samuel L. Jackson) on the box with the frog mascot, because it came with a light-up lightsaber spoon! It’s actually pretty cool, a plastic spoon which attaches to a lightsaber base with a black on/off switch and a red button, which causes the spoon to light up. There doesn’t seem to be any way to replace the battery, so I will have to use it sparingly. I presume the three colors the box mentions are red, blue, and green. I got a red one–I guess I chose the Dark Side at some point. (Wouldn’t surprise me.) I never eat breakfast cereal, but my lightsaber spoon is totally rad… probably the only Star Wars merchandise I’ll break down and get, unless I can find the Episode III Pez dispensers.

ANYWAY… the point of my thread is that now I have a big box of Honey Smacks, and I was wondering if anyone eats these, or has any interesting recipes for them. They’re not that sweet or even terribly crispy, and I don’t like how cereal gets soggy in milk. Can I make “Honey Smacks Treats” like Rice Krispies Treats? Some kind of trail mix? Anything interesting at all?

You might want to try Smacks Crackle. It sounds edible.

Honey Smacks in one ofmy favorite cereals to scarf by the handful. Doesn’t do as well in milk…but straight out of the box, yum.

I remember when these were Sugar Smacks. There was also Super Sugar Crisps, now they’re Super Golden Crisps. sigh Sugar wasn’y always a bad word.

I don’t see why Honey Smacks Treats wouldn’t work. But the trick to eating cereal that gets soggy fast is to just put a small amount in the bowl at a time.

Now I am tempted to buy some for a lightsaber spoon.
