Honeymooning in LA, what to do?

My wedding is at the end of this month and for our honeymoon we are going to Disneyland, with an extra day and a half to fart around LA. I’ve been to LA a bunch of times but never actually played tourist, so what are somethings to see?

I have a cousin who lives near Hollywood so he’s going to show us around there a little bit. I want to visit the Getty Center. Maybe even the Griffith Observatory. Anything else that needs to be seen?

And what are some good hotels to stay at for a night? We don’t want anything too fancy, but nothing ghetto either. Around $125ish a night would be ok.

Disney’s California Adventure?

Knott’s Berry Farm?

I’ve never been to either of those, but they’re supposed to be good.

You could always attend a show taping. My experiences with that are way out of date, and weren’t all fun, but they might have fixed things up since then.

Honeymooning … what to do?

:dubious:

Knott’s Berry Farm is neat if you like rides and shops. I grew up in the area and we used to go there before they fenced in the place. It does have some history and a replica of the first berry stand the Knott’s had up back in the day. Their chicken dinner is famous and used to be quite delicious. I don’t know how historic it is, anymore, but it is a little different from Disneyland, if you stay away from the regular rollercoaster type rides.

The Tar Pits are worth seeing and the museum that’s right there next to them. There is no other place in the world like it.

The new getty center or the old villa? They are both worth seeing, I think. I’ve only been to the http://www.griffithobs.org/ once or twice, but the lasar show is fun to see.

You’re on your honeymoon, you have a day and a half to kill, and you’ve already planned to visit Hollywood plus two other attractions. I’d say that’s probably enough for the time you have available. Figure you’ll likely sleep late, and may feel inclined to spend other amounts of time in a state of nude exertion, plus meals…and you’ve got a reasonably full slate already. No point in rushing around trying to cram too much stuff into a short time…
