Honolulu, Waikiki, do you wanna come along with me?

OK, Beach Boys fans will get the thread title.

Anyway . . . I’m going to Maui!!

Our company sales meeting is in Hawaii this year, on Maui. I wasn’t sure if I would be going, because a) I only switched over to sales from editorial in June, and b) inside sales staff doesn’t always get to go. But, I got the word today–January 4-10, me, Maui, and 100 or so drunken salespeople. Wooooooooooo!

FTR, yes, I know that Honolulu and Waikiki Beach are on Oahu and not Maui. :stuck_out_tongue:

He tells the whole freakin’ message board before even telling his wife?! What the…? :stuck_out_tongue:

Well Peta - didn’t we determine Saturday night that he’s a meanie??

And congrats!!

Arghhh! Won’t the people on this board please stop talking about Hawaii? Next thing you know, Phil is going to start talking about all the great seaweed he’s going to eat while he is there and I’m going to friggen explode. A girl can only take so much!!!

Have fun while you’re there, if you can have fun knowing that some of us live in the dankness and darkness that is Germany. Bring me back some seaweed!!

Go to the Aloha Mixed Plate just a little north of Lahaina and tell 'em pugluvr sent you. It’s right next door to a big overblown luau joint, but the AMP is low-key and relaxed. It serves local “lunch plate” specialties and it’s right on the beach; if you wanted to, you could take your plate of kalua pig, poi, and lomi-lomi salmon and sit with your feet in the ocean while you eat. And drink a Ku-Aipa Maui microbrew for me while you’re at it. Good grinds!

While you’re there, try the guri-guri (it’s a Maui specialty!) and if you’re stopping off at LA on the way back, bring me back some Portugese sausage and a bag of Diamond G rice, thanks.

Tater: Don’t worry, we’ll start a collection for you, right after the “let’s get AudreyK and Myrr together IRL and out of their little soon-to-be-adult-rated booth in the SDMB” collection’s done.

100 drunken salesmen. Yah, sounds like a blast. snort

I had the choice of being stationed for three years in Honolulu or four years in Detroit. We went da kine Hawaii!

I’ll send you some Portuguese sausage and rice if you really want some, dear.

pldennison, be sure to catch a Hawaii sunrise and sunset on the beach while you’re here. And bring your wife with you, fer gawd’s sake!!
