Hooray for Amazon

Amazon lockers are awesome. Punch in the numbers (the bar code scanner never works for me) and there’s the package. No worrying about porch pirates or mis-deliveries. My closest locker is only 2 blocks away. They look like the kiosks for Redbox videos, but they’re yellow.

I’ve not seen it, but there’s a set of lockers at a truck stop one town over. Maybe truck drivers are the intended users?

That one might be at a truck stop but anyone can direct packages to any of the publicly accessible Amazon Locker locations. (Some are in closed locations like office buildings or apartment buildings, so they warn you not to specify those locations unless you can get in there.) So if you happen to live or work near that truck stop, you can specify when ordering that the package be delivered there.

I prefer to have my packages delivered there, simply because that way, they are secure until I can get there. My usual locker location is at a supermarket between the office and my home, and I just need to make a slight detour to get there. The only problem is the locker faces west and in the evening the screen can be entirely washed out.

Thanks to all for the explanation of “Amazon locker”. I’ve not seen them in my city, but maybe I’m just not noticing them.

They’re not highly noticeable if you haven’t seen them before. You can go to Amazon and look up ones in your area.

According to Amazon Canada, lockers are only in Toronto and Vancouver.

That’s a bit too far for an easy walk.

Not just in Toronto and Vancouver. I live well south of Toronto and discussed a local mall, above. But it’s not like I’ve seen them all over the place. Nor looked. They are pretty subdued and would be easy to miss.
