Well, that about wraps it up for Amazon

Another package delivered today, simply dropped inside the door of my 152 unit apartment building with zero attempt to walk up to my apartment or notify me.

Two packages stolen in the last year because of this bullshit.

Sorry Amazon, but I’m done ordering stuff from you as long as you persist in this unreliable and unprofessional delivery crap.

No, I don’t care that it is other companies doing it. I ordered from you.

I get a text message whenever Amazon delivers anything, which at my house, is several times per week. I think I set it up on the Amazon website. Who is delivering-- UPS or post office? I’d take it up with the delivery service. You can set you different procedures with UPS. Not sure about post office.

Or just be mad. Whatever works for you.

I have my notification preferences set to receive emails, but I can log into my Amazon account at any time and track my order to see exactly where it is.

And it’s them who lose money when this sort of thing happens, not you. So feel free to drop Amazon (although it won’t matter to them) but I’d just report that I never received the package and let them sort it out. If there is an Amazon Locker location in your area, you can use that, or redirect the UPS or Fedex shipment to your office.

I’m done with them as well, but because of their endless charging of my credit card. Same items over and over, call them “nope we’re not doing it”, cancel the credit card, order another item and it happens again. Four times now.

Added to that, twice recently I’ve gotten something other than what I ordered, called and they’re so sorry we’ll send it right out, then I get billed for not returning the thing I never got.

Has that ever worked?

How is that happening? There’s a place in the check-out process where you choose the method of payment.

Why would you expect them to walk up to your apartment, especially in a 152 unit building?

I think you can set up some kind of account (free) with UPS, and arrange delivery preferences.

I used to ship lots of things to my (then) 90-year old mother in San Diego and a couple of items went astray. She also lived in an apartment complex. I called her local post office and they were very helpful. I don’t remember exactly what happened, but the problem was resolved. I had stuff arriving a couple of times per week.

The post office and UPS WANT you to get your stuff.

Amazon doesn’t deliver anything. (Outside of a few limited city areas.) You are bitching about the wrong part of the service.

No, Amazon hires these services to deliver their parcels. They are responsible to Amazon for their service and I am complaining to the correct party.

Do they not have package boxes where you live? I live in a complex with something like 600 homes, but each one of our little mailbox sectors has lockboxes where they put packages. When you open your individual mailbox, if you have a package, you get a key to open the lockbox.

I’d almost be inclined to complain to your apartment complex for not having a convenient way to access packages.

So tell us what the other online companies you order from handle this.

How often do you receive packages from other retailers or family members? Are those packages treated differently?

Strange to blame Amazon instead of the delivery company at fault. As long as this is the pit I hope you understand you sound whiny and stupid with this ridiculous complaint.

Contact Amazon and get after the delivery service.

I choose the credit card I want to use, put the info in, and make the purchase. Then they charge that card over and over, and for different amounts each time. Some drop off after a few days and others remain.

Unless I’m mistaken, only USPS letter carriers are authorized to put items into such lockboxes. Or into your individual mailbox (so if I AM mistaken about the lockboxes, they don’t have any way to get the key to you).

My biggest issue with Amazon is getting counterfeit goods.
It has happened to me several times.

Did you add up the charges? If you buy several items from different vendors, Amazon charges the card as each item ships not the whole order at once.

NEVER* buy from third party vendors. “Sold by Amazon” or “Fulfilled by Amazon” is the way to go.
Be certain you buy from the manufacturer’s shop.

*You might risk a third party if they have a very high rating(+95%) and thousands if not tens of thousands of transactions.
