Perhaps there was an issue concerning her culinary abilities.
What does it say about me that my first thought was “meth lab”??
I’ve got some tuna steaks thawing - I’m going to dump a little teriyaki on them, steam some rice, and cook up some vegetable matter. Supper is planned. Go me! And my watering is done. And I found the paperwork I need to get a retiree CAC. So yay!
(snerk)
swampy, not only was I a chalist today, I was a lector! Got to read the lesson from Jeremiah. I prefer reading the OT out loud, it’s “meatier” than the NT somehow.
Midget usually I reheathenate on the ride home from deheathenization.
Baker yeah, OT readings are generally more fun. Since most NT readings are Paul’s letters which are one big run on sentence, they’re just not as fun. Next week I will be lector for the Luteruns. On Reformation Sunday even!
You’re know you’re a bad cook if the HazMat team shows up because dindin cookin’ smells like a meth lab.
Well, my haid and sinuses behaved today, but I didn’t go fishin or deheathenate. I welcome my sloth overlord.
But not for long. Mowed the yahd (hopefully for the last time this season), trimmed the burning bush that threatened to eat the walkway, transplanted a hydrangea, and planted a maroon mum in the hydrangea’s old space. We have a yellow mum in a brick planter we call The Borg because it took over, and we want the maroon mum to do the same thing where it was planted.
The Lutherans around the corner, where I’d go deheathenate if I ever got off my ass on a Sunday, came through the neighborhood leafletting with invites for their Oktoberfest next Sattiday. I just may go…
Tuna is marinating, going under the broiler in about 5 minutes. Rice is steaming. And corn is simmering - not green, but I wanted corn. The day is winding down and I’m definitely ready for sleepy time, and definitely not ready to go to work tomorrow. Alas…
Now’s a good time for a volunteer to step forward to start us off tomorrow, or tonight. Either way…
Oktoberfest is fun! Luteruns know how to do that up big.
Just et a ham 'n cheese sammich. Now I need to fold a load of towels. The excitatement at da cave knows no bounds!
Ham and cheese sandwich for lunch spaghettis for dinner.
I didn’t cook so it’s double yum. I’m hope it’s spirals or shells instead of spaghetti noodles though. I like pasta that scoops.
Here’s what it looks like today. It was much, much worse last night. The antibiotics are working.
Ouch! That looks painful! Glad the meds are working.
Supper was good. I’m going to hop into the shower, then knit the night away.
MWAH!!
I’m making mesquite chicken with orange ancho rice. Might have a margarita with it.
Nurse, ouch!
VBob, Oktoberfest is done by the Catholic church around these parts.
Glad the meds are workin’ Nurse!. Hope you’re over it all soonest.
MOOOOOOM why do you knit in the shower?
Whiskypalians are best at wine and cheese. We do wine and cheese good.
Let’s try this… next person to post starts us off tomorrow!
From the files of The Stupid:
Local supermarket ran a promo today; wear a home team football jersey & get 10% off of your order. Checkout clerk hands me my receipt; I could have tucked the top into my belt & it still would have been touching the floor…& I have long legs.
Did they apply the discount once, at the bottom, like they do with coupons? Noooo, it prints up with 10% off each & every single item, resulting in 3 extra lines per item. Wonder how much ink/checkout paper they wasted system wide doing it that way? :smack:
Spidey has volunteered!
Deacon Joy (she’s our Deacon over to the church house just so you know) just called me. They had a youth meetin’ this evenin’ at the church house. So, kids, right? They ordered pizza and someone had the idea to make a big tossed sallit, cause, you know, kids just can’t get enough of tossed sallit. Needless to say, said sallit was barely touched.
Tomorrow is men’s night. BTW I do have steaks marinatin’ and beer chillin’. I am supposed to go by the sto’ and get N.O.T. for bakin’ and pick up some bag sallit. Joy called me to tell me theres a ton o’ sallit we might as well eat. Good to know and good thing I decided to be a big ol’ sloth and not go to the sto’ today.
You? A sloth! The horror!
: points and laughs at Spidey :
Still working on painting the box.
Gotta go blow the licorice stick now.
ouchie Nurse!
Glad it’s not me starting the day off.
Sketties were good. I am stuffed.
I am hoping for a good nights sleep tonight and to get up early and go grocery shopping at the big stores. Sah-dog needs food and treats.
Since the ELCA(Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) is in communion with the Episcopal church, we have a Lutheran minister as assisting clergy. He likes to tweak us about Reformation Sunday! He’s also a hospital chaplain, and was, for many years, an Army chaplain.
I was ELCA for several years, after quitting the REALLY conservative Lutheran church I was born to, and can now no longer commune at, because I’m not “one of them”
You need to explain that part about the HazMat team. Did someone really show up at your place, or am I being whooshed?
